1999 Navistar International 4700 S Series 20 Feet Box (Cargo) Truck 2000 True Grit Series Release 2 (McDonald's) Scale 1:100 by Johnny Lightning

Esta es la primera vez que un vehículo de International Harvester Company (la cual recientemente fue renombrada como Navistar International Corporation, en 1985), hace su debut en este humilde blog y ¡debo decir que estoy absolutamente encantado!... 

La Navistar International Corporation (conocida también simplemente como International), es una compañía con una larga, larga historia, que comenzó tan lejos como en 1830. 

En esa época, la agricultura era una de las principales actividades económicas (sino la principal) en los Estados Unidos y la industria estaba surgiendo apenas, obviamente para apoyar a la agricultura... 

McCormick Harvestry Machinery Company, fundada en 1847, fue la compañía formal que originó la International Harvester Company, una vez fue fusionada por J. P. Morgan, en 1903, con Deering Harvester Company, Milwaukee, Plano y Warder, Bushnell y Glessner (fabricantes de la marca Champion)... 

La fortaleza de esta empresa, fue la fabricación de tractores bajo la marca Farmall Works... 

Para 1930, IHC produjo su tractor Farmall no. 100.000, pero estos vehículos necesitaban toneladas de accesorios para su trabajo y ellos fueron capaces de fabricar muchos tipos de equipamiento relacionado con la agricultura así que, ¡era un negocio muy exitoso!... 

Puedo darme el lujo de decir que la unidad de negocio de tractores fue el motor que movió la compañía entera, prácticamente hasta el comienzo de los 80s. 

Pero no todo fue color de rosa, después de más de 50 años de una operación rentable, en 1979, IHC sufrió una crisis financiera profunda. 

Aparentemente, la empresa tenía una estructura de costos en globo por lo cual, con el fin de ajustar las finanzas, algunas líneas de modelos no rentables fueron eliminadas y la producción en fábrica fue reducida. 

Estas políticas no fueron bien recibidas por los miembros de la unión y los trabajadores, pero tales medidas de choque no fueron suficientes y una larga huelga (alrededor de 6 meses) junto con una situación económica desfavorable, llevaron a la compañía a su fin y su división, para sobrevivir. 

Después de la reestructuración, solo las divisiones de camiones y motores quedaron, y esta es la forma en que esta empresa funciona hasta el día de hoy. 

El Camión Navistar International 4700 Serie S con Furgón de 6 m de 1999, es solo uno de los ejemplos de las líneas de camiones para trabajo mediano y pesado, hechos por Navistar International. 

Es un modelo muy popular incluso hoy en día y su diseño fue muy distintivo, tanto que creó una tendencia que fue seguida por otras empresas fabricantes de camiones, como Freightliner (originalmente norteamericana, pero ahora es parte de Daimler AG). 

Estos camiones probaron ser muy confiables y he visto muchos de ellos funcionando todavía, aquí en mi ciudad natal por lo cual, su calidad está fuera de toda duda para mí. 

Creo que su confiabilidad depende principalmente de su tren de potencia: un motor diesel I6 T444E International de 7.3 L, clasificado entre 190 hp y 230 hp, acoplado a una caja de cambios manual 6+1, que aseguran un muy buen desempeño. 

Johnny Lightning no solo tiene hermosos autos en escala 1:64, en verdad tiene también unos pocos modelos de camiones e incluso tanques, con el mismo o incluso mejor esmero por la calidad. 

En estos modelos específicos, la escala es diferente, porque tienen que ajustarse al tamaño de una tarjeta normal y de acuerdo con mis cálculos, esta debería ser 1:100. 

Fue realmente difícil encontrar información sobre este modelo, primeramente porque es muy escaso en el mercado y en segundo lugar porque no tiene decoración, es solo rojo plano... 

Tal vez es un error de fabricación (lo cual es aún más raro) o una edición limitada, no tengo la menor idea, pero de todas maneras es espléndido y eso es lo que realmente importa para mí. 

Por favor, noten que la Serie a la que pertenece, en este caso es mi suposición, dado que no hay tal cosa como este modelo sin decoración y el Camión de Reparto McDonald’s parece ser el que más se ajusta al que estoy publicando. 

El Camión Furgón Navistar International 4700 no puede ser mejor que este, ¡es IMPONENTE!... 

Carrocería/chasis en diecast, con detalles en plástico que incluyen furgón, tanques de combustible, estribos laterales, guardafangos traseros y plataforma hidráulica de descarga Tommy (¡justo como en la vida real!). 

Los trabajos de pintura / tampos son una locura y obviamente tiene ruedas de caucho con rimes cromados realistas... 

¡Todo es genial en este camión!... =DDDDD

This is the first time that a vehicle by International Harvester Company (which recently was renamed as Navistar International Corporation, in 1985), makes its debut in this humble blog and I most say that I’m absolutely delighted!... 

The Navistar International Corporation (known as well simply as International), is a company with a long, long history, which began as far as in 1830. 

At that time, the agriculture was one of the main economic activities (if not the main one) in the U.S.A. and the industry was barely emerging, obviously to support the agriculture... 

McCormick Harvestry Machinery Company, founded in 1847, was the formal company that originated the International Harvester Company, once it was merged by J. P. Morgan, in 1903, with Deering Harvester Company, Milwaukee, Plano and Warder, Bushnell and Glessner (manufacturers of the Champion brand)... 

The strength of this company, was the manufacturing of tractors under the Farmall Works brand... 

For 1930, IHC produced its Farmall tractor no. 100,000, but these vehicles needed tons of accessories for their work and they were able to manufacture several types of farm-related equipment so, it was a very successful business!... 

I can afford to say that the business unit of tractors was the engine that moved the entire company virtually until the early 80s. 

But not everything was color rose, after more than 50 years of a profitable operation, in 1979, IHC underwent a deep financial crisis. 

Apparently, the company had a ballooning cost structure so, in order to adjust the finances, some unprofitable model lines were terminated and the factory production was curtailed. 

These policies were not well received among the union members and workers, but such shock measures weren’t enough and a long strike (around 6 months) along with an unfavorable economic status, led the company to an end and its division, to survive. 

After restructuring, only the truck and engines divisions remained and this is the way this company works till today. 

The 1999 Navistar International 4700 S Series 20 FT Box Truck, is just one of the examples made by Navistar International medium and heavy-duty truck lines. 

It’s a very popular model even nowadays and its design was very distinctive, so much that it created a trend that was followed by other truck manufacturing companies, like Freightliner (originally american, but now is part of Daimler AG). 

These trucks proved to be very reliable and I have seen many of them still working, here in my hometown so, their quality is beyond doubt for me. 

I think that this reliability depends mainly on the powertrain: a 7.3 L, T444E International I6 diesel engine, rated at between 190 hp and 230 hp, coupled to a 6+1 manual gearbox, which ensures a very good performance. 

Johnny Lightning has not only beautiful cars in scale 1:64, indeed it has also a few models of trucks and even tanks, with the same (or even better) care for quality. 

In these specific models, the scale is different, because they have to fit the size of a normal card and according to my calculations, it should be 1:100. 

It was really difficult to find info about this model, firstly because is very scarce in the market and secondly because it has no decor, it’s just plain red... 

Maybe is a manufacturing error (which is even more rare) or a limited edition, I have no idea, but anyway it’s gorgeous and that’s what really matters for me. 

Please, note that the Series it belongs, in this case is my guess, since there is no such thing like this model without decor and the McDonald’s Cargo Truck seems to be the closer match for the one I’m publishing. 

The 1999 Navistar International 4700 Cargo (Box) Truck couldn’t be any better that this, it’s AWESOME!... 

Diecast body / chassis, with plastic details including cargo box, fuel tanks, running boards, rear fenders and a Tommy hydraulic lift-gate (just like in the real life!). 

The paint job / tampos are insane and obviously it has rubber tires with realistic chrome wheels... 

Everything is cool in this truck!... =DDDDD
