ENGLISH The world keeps going, almost everything changes, the humankind evolves (not always for better), it’s something undeniable and necessary... Those who think that nothing has changed, should take a look to the "products" of the civilization...
I could mention: the literature, architecture, music, drawing, painting, science, industry and the list continues...
Do notice that I began the list with art expressions or creative disciplines and what I find quite ironic, is that many people consider the arts as something useless and a paltry waste of time...
Guess what!...
The arts are the memory of civilizations so, you better change your mind about it! =PPPPP...
Also, do notice that I mentioned the industry and yeah, you can visualize how the world progresses through the products manufactured industrially, like vehicles.
Most of the means of transportation developed during and after the Industrial Revolution, evolved starting from the old tumbrils and stagecoaches.
The tumbrils were ancestors of almost all the utilitarian vehicles known nowadays, while the stagecoaches are the ancestors of the passenger vehicles.
Actually, if you have a trained eye, you can easily see the similarities between the old stagecoaches and the first vehicles.
Also, the utilitarian vehicles are basically tumbrils with engine...
Although the main functionality of the utilitarian vehicles remains almost intact, namely, transporting goods from point A to point B; they became more and more specialized, increasing their productivity.
I already said that virtually all the commercial activities require logistics and were the logistics is required, the trucks are strategic elements.
This type of vehicles, unlike the old tumbrils, change the configuration of their body to meet the specific requirements of the goods they carry.
The beverage trucks, for example, had an open-rack cargo area in their first versions, back in the decade of the 30s of the last century.
Unlike them, the recent models of beverage trucks have a closed cargo area, more like containers, made mainly in aluminum, with several bays and the corresponding roll-up side doors...
I think this is an appropriate introduction for the diecast I’m publishing today.
This diecast was called just Aqua King, which is pretty fine since this truck carries water containers.
It seems that is an "unlicensed" model, because there is no indication about the actual vehicle used as reference.
However, I have seen some fellow collectors speculating about an alleged resemblance with the 1999 Navistar International 4700 S Series (you can check further information about it, in this link), but obviously they are pretty wrong!...
My trained eye tells me that a better candidate is the 1997 Ford Aeromax L9000 Heavy Duty Truck and I already know this Aqua King is a medium duty truck, but the resemblance is more obvious in this case =PPPPP...
This was the "First Edition" of this model, the design is very good and looks realistic; is fairly detailed, but that’s something you can expect from Matchbox.
It has diecast body and plastic metallic grey chassis, the paint job in medium blue polychrome, along with the prolix decoration which includes tiny texts and logos perfectly readable, make this diecast a sure winner, at least in my humble opinion.
The open-rack cargo area has a retro feeling, also the translucent plastic used for the water containers and the cabin interiors, creates interesting effects with the light.
Definitely Matchbox knows how to create incredible trucks, either they are externally licensed or not!...
2 Sam 22:26-29 "With the merciful Thou wilt show Thyself merciful, and with the upright man Thou wilt show Thyself upright. With the pure Thou wilt show Thyself pure; and with the froward Thou wilt show Thyself unsavory. And the afflicted people Thou wilt save: but Thine Eyes are upon the haughty, that Thou mayest bring them down. For Thou art my lamp, O LORD: and the LORD will lighten my darkness."
I didn't quite understand the green panel. Are they supposed to be water containers? Sorry, cos those I see in my country are usually covered or stack in crates.
yeah, the green panels are racks with water containers (usually of 20 L each one and this truck is filled with them), at least in this case such trucks are usual here and since those water containers are translucent, i find very appropiate the use of translucent plastic for these racks... other beverages trucks (soda carriers) are just like those you mentioned... =)

I’m a professional graphic designer and a restful collector, but above all: I’m someone who doesn’t take for granted anything, just because someone else says so. I think this hobby goes way beyond buying stuff here and there: anybody with money can buy collectibles, but not anybody becomes collector by doing so. I think as well that this hobby is, more than anything, about knowledge, about making sense of what happens around us and just like any other kind of knowledge, if it’s devoid of ethics, is worthless. I like to address topics around collectionism, including, but not limited to: history, industry, forums, groups, collectors, distributors, sellers, etc. I’m fully aware that criticism is essential for our hobby: everything is susceptible of improvement and we the collectors demand quality, but the industry around it doesn’t necessarily shares that vision. After all, well-targeted criticism always helps to detect failures and correct them, it’s like critical thinking: it helps you see things as they really are and not just as how they are presented to you. If you are someone who likes to look beyond the surface, welcome, if that is not the case, continue at your own risk...
