2014 Disney Infinity Edition 2.0 - Disney Originals Series (2014 Disney’s Big Hero 6 Animated Movie) Baymax - PVC Collectible Figurine with Power Disc (IGP - Interactive Game Piece for Disney Infinity Videogame Platform) by Disney

=OOOOO

ENGLISH
I like to think that movies, in general, are much more than just entertainment and while most people will consider them just a good plan to hang out any weekend, I try to remember why cinema is called the "seventh art"...

I already know that the latter concept sounds rather strange for the average English speaker and there is a reason for that: the term "seventh art" was coined by italian film theoritician Ricciotto Canudo, in 1911 and its use is much more popular in Romance languages, like Spanish, Italian, French, etc, but in the academic field it’s not unknown.

The seventh art concept itself, referring to cinema, has been controversial; being a relatively recent activity, compared with older arts like architecture, sculpture, painting, music, dance, poetry or theater, it was considered for decades just a minor craft, an appendix to the theater to be more precise.

However, time and the evolution of movie making has overcome this conception of cinema and people who enjoy the seventh art, like me, generate different readings of the same movie, that not necessarilly have to do with what the creators of these works proposed originally in their narrative...

Yet, I try to keep in mind as well, that the cinema industry is first and foremost an industry, that the entertainment is at its core and that just like the rest of the media and the art itself, is used consistently as an instrument to shape, manipulate the mindset of population on a large scale.

Just because the funders of this industry have specific interests, an agenda, that they promote through the media and other resources at their disposal, so I always try to read between the lines...

It has drawn my attention the streak of computer animated movies created by Disney Animation Studios, with the help of Pixar, like Toy Story, Monsters, Inc., Finding Nemo, Cars, Ratatouille, Wall-E or Up, among others.

And one of those "other" gems is Big Hero 6, a production that just like other Disney co-creations is classified as a children’s movie, suitable for all ages and hence, an "easy to digest" film...

Well, we should consider that this production is based in a comic series by Marvel (now property of Disney), with the same name, whose first appearance was in 1998 and more than an adaptation, it’s a recreation.

Now, while the original story is darker, substantially more violent, includes more characters (both heroes and villains), and even the main characters are different, the Disney version has its own merit and it’s not only enjoyable, but it also addresses interesting topics between the lines...

One of them is what I would call the superiority of wisdom over intelligence and it’s curious how people tend to overlap these terms as if they were a sort of synonyms, when actually that’s not the case, however, I must admit that many times is not easy to differentiate them.

Although both have to do with knowledge, wisdom is more related with ethics, experience, intution, the practical aspect of things and what is right, while intelligence is more related with logic, data, processes, the theoretical aspect of things and what is possible.

Intelligence allows you to make efficient decisions, in specific matters, where certainties and theoretical knowledge prevail, in so far as wisdom allows you to make right decisions, in more general matters, where uncertainties and practical knowledge prevail.

But, let me explain it with the help of two of the main characters: Hiro and Tadashi Hamada...

These orphan brothers, adopted by their aunt Cass after the tragic death of their parents, seemingly had an innate talent for robotics, no doubt both of them had knowledge in this matter, but you can see a big difference in the way they used this talent and knowledge.

The film makes a greater emphasis on Hiro, the younger one and you can deduct easily that he’s a gifted boy / adolescent, because the development of the microbots for the presentation in the Ito Ishioka Robotic Lab (part of San Fransokyo Institute of Technology), once he was focused in this project, was like a "breeze" for him...

At his young age, Hiro was way more intelligent than his brother Tadashi, but while Hiro used his great gift in illegal bot fighting, his brother worked hard, very hard, until exhaustion and making many mistakes, to create a personal healthcare companion that would help a lot of people: Baymax...

Even more, all that huge talent of Hiro was not harnessed until Tadashi guided his brother to do so and to be honest, Tadashi created Baymax and gave it its "soul", while Hiro just improved its "body" and some of its skills...

OH! And do you remember what happened when Hiro removed Tadashi’s chip from Baymax’s motherboard, leaving only the chip he had created?...

Can you spot the difference, HUH? =PPPPP...

Uhmmm, I guess it’s time for another unexpected publication of the "other" items in my collection, just because the interests of the owner of this blog (me) are motley and well, there is something different and whimsical in any of my reviews anyway...

This is an IGP (Interactive Game Piece), a sort of "avatar" compatible with the Edition 2.0 of the videogame platform or virtual interactive playground project of Disney, known as Infinity (recently cancelled), that included characters from Disney, Marvel and Star Wars franchises.

It’s another gift from one of my brothers in law, for Christmas, that I received more than a year ago and I’m glad because I love Big Hero 6 and Baymax is a great character for me (even bearing in mind that it’s not human).

It’s a 4" high figurine (statue) including a display base containing a power disc, with data about the character, which allows to use it in the platform and seemingly it works for different machines (Wii U, PS3, Xbox 360, etc.).

It came inside a big and neatly designed card, with information in english and french; it was made in PVC, achieving a very good level of detail, the proportion and likeness is excellent and there are nice tampos to add realism and faithfulness regarding the original character; the extras are a trading card, printed in full color, with a web code to unlock the character, a flyer with basic product care information in 30 languages and it was made in China...

Num 23:5-10 "And the LORD put a Word in Balaam's mouth, and said: return unto Balak, and thus thou shalt speak. And he returned unto him, and, lo, he stood by his burnt sacrifice, he, and all the princes of Moab. And he took up his parable, and said: Balak the king of Moab hath brought me from Aram, out of the mountains of the east, saying: come, curse me Jacob, and come, defy Israel. How shall I curse, whom GOD hath not cursed? or how shall I defy, whom the LORD hath not defied? For from the top of the rocks I see him, and from the hills I behold him: lo, the people shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations. Who can count the dust of Jacob, and the number of the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous, and let my last end be like his!"

P.S. I will have another of my short parenthesis of two weeks in my regular publications, starting next week so, I’ll be back (uhmmm, it sounded a tad terminator-esque, but who cares? =PPPPP) in April 23, if GOD allows! =OOOOO

Disney Pixar Cars Movie: Sarge by Unknown

ENGLISH
When my mother goes to visit my older brother, sometimes she brings home curious items, which are carefully revised by the undersigned (LOL) and sometimes I find interesting stuff...

It happens that I ask my mom if I can inherit those sweet souvenirs and sometimes she accepts the deal (you, consummate greedy!... Sorry, that was my awareness... Greeeeeddddyyyyy!... Shut up!).

I was not planning to collect more items from Cars the movie, but you know, the circumstances force you and you just let it be... HAHAHA...

I love Jeeps in all their forms and Off-Road vehicles in general (and trucks, rigs, Muscle Cars, super sport cars and a huge etc.), so this couldn’t be better for me =D...

Sarge is the classic military character, obsessed with rules and order which is not so bad in the end. He is the animated version of a 1941 Military Jeep, a heavy duty companion in the World War !! with many options of equipment including weaponry.

The original diecast toy car is made by Mattel in 1:55 scale (approx.) but mine has no brand at all, only the copyright:  "Disney/Pixar Jeep®" and the origin: "China"

This is not a diecast, everything here is plastic (except the wheels’ axle) but the sculpt is impressive, beautifully detailed.

It combines a simple paint job with a sort of decals applied with heat and placed with great precision.

I wouldn’t dare to call it "bootleg" (sorry for the foul language!... But I couldn’t find another word which let me express what "bootleg" means... HAHAHA... Can you notice that I hate "bootlegs"?)...

Another week, another publication, thanks to the Mercy of the Ancient of days, Jehovah... May He let me publish something else next week... =)

1959 Chevrolet Impala Ramone Disney Pixar Cars Movie Diecast Scale 1:55 by Mattel

¡Ey perro!
•• ¿Pasoooo parse?
¿Ese de allá no es Ramón?
•• ¿Esa p*rra con pintura roja policromada?
¡Uyyyyy siii!
¿No?)

Ejem...

=DDDDD

ENGLISH

Yo dog!
•• Sup dude?
Ain’t that Ramone over there?
•• That b*tch with red polychrome paint?
Weeee yeah!
•• Roll ur window down, I’m gonna smoke that piece of...
Heyyo, eat this bit... BLAM, BLAM, BLAM (The rest of whatever happened here, was banned by the puritan owner of this blog... As far as I know, this is not a blog about red chronicles... Ain’t it?)

Ahem... I couldn’t avoid the violent beginning of this publication... And it was ’cause today I had to dive into the gansta world, the chicano world to be precise, in the current Lowrider, which produces cars notoriously modified, not only in their eccentric paint schemes but also in the work of suspension, that can make a car to dance, literally!...

For this purpose they chose huge cars, obviously produced in North America and create the closest thing to a real life Transformer, I’ve ever seen.

I’m afraid that this will be the last post about Cars in my domains, but i think it’s a great end of "season", since this 1959 Chevrolet Impala looks incredibly good, with its polychrome paint, combined with a light cream tone and the work on its wheels...

It could be, indeed, the most striking in my collection and the only thing they need, is to speak!... =DDDDD

1970 Plymouth Superbird King Disney Pixar Cars Movie Diecast Scale 1:55 by Mattel

ENGLISH

Call me anti-ecological (now that there are a lot of green things in vogue, including green weed... Because there are people who smoke up even the grass and it’s clear, they are very organic those berriondos*!) but I’m a rabid lover of Muscle Cars.

I already know that they supposedly exhausted their fifteen minutes with the 73’s oil crisis, that cut short the dizzying race, not just of cars, but their engines which grew in size and power, becoming more and more voracious fuel consumers.

The 50s, 60s and 70s were decades of glory for fast, wild, beautiful, imposing and powerful cars (many adjectives follow, but space is short and self-restrained...).

Disney Pixar’s Cars knows how to give a prominent place to classic vehicles, without neglecting modern cars, which in some cases reach a good share of beauty and good taste (although in a different style and level).

The distinguished piece that I have the pleasure of introduce today, is based on a car that shows in great detail, the essence of Muscle Cars: the 1970 Plymouth Superbird, which was modeled on the car used by Richard Petty, famous NASCAR racer.

Mattel again break my weak will with another precious diecast, very detailed, specially the tampos are precise and tires and their wheels increase the realism of this little machine.

Apparently, these are the only machines I will have in my life, but what the heck...

*Berriondo: Colombian regionalism difficult to translate, it might mean: crafty, sassy, fearless, strong, depending on the context.

1949 Mercury Club Coupe Sheriff Disney Pixar Cars Movie Diecast Scale 1:55 by Mattel

P.D.
¡Estoy estrenando nueva imagen y mascota para my blogcito!

ENGLISH

But why the hell are you stopping me, officer? I was just innocently browsing the web... You can’t even accuse me of speeding (in connection)!

•• You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law, you have the right to speak to an attorney...

Officer, are you nuts?

•• Sir, I must stop you for excessive good taste in visiting this blog... Please, give me your navigation license and lift your hands off the mouse...

XDDDDDDDDDDDD Oh my GOD! I’m definitely going insane and I don’t know how much I will stay sane, to keep publishing in this place...

What I do know is that the police’s world with their garments, equipment, vehicles, weapons and situations arising from law enforcement, has an undeniable charm.

Although it sounds a bit yankee (and it does), I have always felt a great attraction for everything about the U.S. Police... The design of their uniforms, insignia and vehicles is a global paradigm for me. I haven’t seen police cruisers more archetypal than those from the U.S.A.

Our guest today is an unique example of this type of vehicle, but in animated version, thanks to the talent of the creators of Cars.

For this character, they decided to look back and take as "canvas" a fantastic 1949 Mercury Club Coupe, which is also a close relative of the beautiful beast on four wheels used by Silvester Stallone in Cobra (1986), because the police vehicles should command respect and this car is nothing cowardly. Its level of detail, plus its paint job and tampos don’t disappoint at all...

••
10-15 the netizen was arrested, I’m waiting further instructions...

••• You have permission to kick that filthy ass to the Police Station, 10-19...

P.S.
I have a brand new image and pet for my bloggy. Something more in touch with the character and personality of the owner... Huh! But the madness is the same or even worse =PPPPP
