Un diseñador gráfico profesional (con algunas destrezas en diseño web, pero aún pienso que la programación es una "nueva versión" de antiguas torturas medievales, con al menos tres verdugos a cargo: el sr. HTML[cualquier version], el sr. CSS y el sr. Javascript, además "subrepticiamente" acompañados por artistas invitados como: el sr. SQL, el sr. PHP, el sr. jQuery, el sr. ASP.NET y sinverguenzas como esos)...
En ese sentido, mi vocación me compele a leer y observar casi cualquier cosa delante de mis ojos, porque realmente no sabes donde encontrarás inspiración, para tu próximo desarrollo gráfico o para proyectos personales, como el sitio que estás visitando ahora mismo...
Durante mi "cacería de ideas" usual, no puedo evitar encontrar ciertos sitios web y blogs, especializados en coleccionables y con una reputación ya establecida los cuales, como podrías esperar, tienen sus propios "portavoces", que resultan tomar su papel demasiado en serio, muy a menudo...
En uno de estos sitios, leí una reseña sobre la Línea Vinylmation, que mencionó específicamente el set al cual pertenece la figurina que estoy presentando hoy.
El autor parece ser un coleccionista de esta línea y groso modo, él dijo que este set "se siente realmente irrelevante y casi infantil", además que "este set caprichoso, parece destinado al fracaso" y aún más, que él no tenía pista de "qué intención de Disney hay aquí"...
Bueno, algunas personas tienden a exagerar el "significado" de ciertos coleccionables y eso tiene sentido algunas veces, pero esta Línea Vinylmation resulta ser básicamente sobre Juguetes de Diseñador; por lo tanto, no esta destinada a tener un "significado trascendental" o a ser la "respuesta definitiva a tus preguntas más profundas en la vida"...
NO, la mayoría de veces un Juguete de Diseñador tiene poco o ningún sentido y ese es precisamente su encanto, simplemente porque es una ejercicio de diseño subversivo (¿o debería decir, capricho?), algo con lo cual jugar, una broma visual y tú puedes tratar de filosofar sobre esto, todo lo que quieras, pero no funciona de esta manera y esto no lo hace irrelevante, en lo absoluto (créeme, soy un diseñador profesional, sé de lo que estoy hablando)...
Ahora, si este tipo uso "infantil" como una especie de término despectivo, entonces va por mal camino, porque infantil es > algo relacionado con niños > los niños están acostumbrados a pensar en forma no convencional > un Juguete de Diseñador, como Producto de Diseño, es la materialización de "pensar en forma no convencional" así que > infantil es la forma en que un Juguete de Diseñador DEBE ser percibido y en vez de ser despectivo, en realidad es un halago...
Por otro lado, cuando este "profeta de los juguetes" predice que el set completo está "destinado al fracaso", no puedo evitar reir un poco, ya que fracaso, cuando se trata de coleccionables, es un término relativo; he visto muchas veces ejemplos de artículos de colección, que una vez fueron considerados pifias completas y algún tiempo después, se convierten en "santos griales"...
Y sobre su última afirmación, no podría estar más de acuerdo con él, porque sí, él realmente no tiene pista de qué intención de Disney hay aquí y ¿sabes qué?...
Ni Disney, ni yo necesitamos saber dicha "intención", con el fin de disfrutar este Juguete de Diseñador; pero ¡gracias en todo caso por su valiosa colaboración, inspirando mi diatriba y permitiéndome ejercitar mi ironía no-tan-sutil! =PPPPP...
Ahora, no me tomes a mal, no estoy en contra de la crítica, por el contrario, necesitamos ser objetivos como coleccionistas adultos y eso significa señalar las pifias en lo que se nos ofrece en este mercado, pero pienso también que debe haber un equilibrio entre crítica y elogio en nuestra opinión, tanto como sea posible, porque no hay coleccionables perfectos y la fabricación de este tipo de productos tiene limitaciones intrínsecas, siempre que no sea un asunto de avaricia desmedida de las marcas que los desarrollan, los juguetes y coleccionables tiene pros y contras que deberíamos considerar...
En este punto, ya has notado un "pequeño" cambio en el enfoque de mis publicaciones "usuales", pero no te dejes engañar por mi más bien larga racha de reseñas sobre modelos de diecast; yo empecé coleccionando otras cosas y no he olvidado mis "raíces" así que, de vez en cuando, esos otros coleccionables desfilarán en mi blog, siempre y cuando mi presupuesto y otras circunstancias me lo permitan.
Por ejemplo, este tipo encantador que puedes ver publicado aquí, fue un regalo de uno de mis cuñados, para Navidad, hace más de un año y ya era hora de darle una oportunidad de conocer a mis leales seguidores y visitantes por igual.
¡Este fue verdaderamente un inesperado y por esa misma razón, increíble presente, que finalmente encontró su camino a un feliz, agradecido y cariñoso dueño: yo!...
Probablemente, él fue asesorado por una de mis sobrinas, pero si ese no fuera el caso, él tomó una decisión grandiosa sobre este Juguete de Diseñador de todas maneras, y este tendrá un montón de camaradas, de seguro.
Como ya lo mencioné, pertenece a la Línea Vinylmation, hecha por Disney, la cual fue lanzada en Noviembre de 2008 y ha estado creciendo consistentemente, con innumerables sets, que complacerán cualquier gusto imaginable.
El set I Love Mickey Mouse o I♥MM, consiste en cuatro figurinas, donde la alusión al ratón más famoso es evidente; cada una recibió un nombre sencillo: Worlds, Clear, Pink (el mío), y Stripes...
Te lo dije, no es un acertijo o un artículo arcano, es algo para disfrutar plácidamente.
Venía dentro de una hermosa caja con ventana, impresa a todo color en la parte exterior y en verde manzana en el interior, además la figura está bien sujeta por una bandeja plástica transparente.
La figurina misma fue hecha en PVC rosa translúcido, moldeada con finura y cubierta por una decoración colorida y deliciosa todo alrededor, en blanco, amarillo, verde manzana, verde medio, cian, morado y azul índigo, también complementada por un casco de burbuja transparente, sí, ¡como un astronauta!...
La gente en general y los coleccionistas en particular, pueden decir que este set es un completo fiasco, pero en este caso como con el resto de mi colección, sus opiniones harán muy poco para hacerme cambiar de parecer, sobre lo que quiero coleccionar y eso es lo que yo llamo coherencia en tu afición...

During my usual "hunt for ideas", I cannot help but find certain websites and blogs, with a reputation already established, specialized in collectibles which, as you might expect, have their own "spokesmen", who happen to take their role a bit too seriously, very often...
In one of these sites, I read a review about the Vinylmation Line, that specifically mentioned the set to which belongs the figurine I’m introducing today.
The author seems to be a collector of this line and he roughly said that this set "feels really irrelevant and almost childish", also that "this whimsical set seems destined for failure" and even more, that he really had "no clue what Disney’s intention is here"...
Well, some people tend to overdo the "meaning" of certain collectibles and that makes sense sometimes, but this Vinylmation Line happens to be basically about Designer Toys; hence, it’s not intended to have a "transcendental meaning" or to be the "ultimate answer for your deepest questions in life"...
NO, most times a Designer Toy makes little or nonsense and that’s precisely its charm, just because it’s a subversive design exercise (or should I say, whim?), something to play with, a visual joke and you can try to philosophize about it, all you want, but it doesn’t work this way and it doesn’t make it irrelevant at all (believe me, I’m a professional designer, I know what I’m talking about)...
Now, if this guy used "childish" as a sort of derogatory term, then he went astray, because childish is > something related with children > children are used to think out of the box > a Designer Toy, as a Design Product, is the materialization of "thinking out of the box" so > childish is the way a Designer Toy MUST be perceived and instead of being derogatory, actually is a compliment...
Moreover, when this "prophet of toys" predicts that the whole set is "destined for failure", I can’t help but laugh a little, since failure, when it comes to collectibles, is a relative term; I have seen many examples of collector’s items, that were once considered complete goofs and some time later, they become "holy grails"...
And about his last claim, I couldn’t agree more with him, because yeah, he really has no clue what Disney’s intention is here and you know what?...
Neither Disney, nor I need to know such "intention", in order to enjoy this Designer Toy; but thanks anyway for his valuable contribution, inspiring my diatribe and letting me exercise my not-so-subtle irony! =PPPPP...
Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m not against criticism, conversely, we need to be objective as adult collectors and that means to point out blunders in what is offered to us in this market, but I think as well that there should a balance between criticism and commendation in our opinion, as much as possible, because there are no perfect collectibles and the manufacturing of this kind of products has intrinsic limitations: providing that it’s not a matter of excessive greed of the brands that develop them, toys and collectibles have pros and cons that we should consider...
At this point, you already have noticed a "little change" in the focus of my "usual" publications, but don’t be fooled by my rather long streak of reviews about diecast models; I began collecting other stuff and I’ve not forgotten my "roots" so, every now and then, those other collectibles will parade in my blog, as long as my budget and other circumstances allow me.
For instance, this lovely guy you can see published here, was a gift from one of my brothers in law, for Christmas, over a year ago and it was about time to give him a chance to meet my loyal followers and visitors equally.
This was truly an unexpected and for that very reason, awesome present, which finally found its way to a happy, grateful and affectionate owner: me!...
Probably, he was advised by one of my nieces, but if that weren’t the case, he made a great decision on this Designer Toy anyway, and it will have a lot of comrades, for sure.
As I already mentioned, it belongs to the Vinylmation Line, made by Disney, which was released in November 2008 and it has been growing consistently, with numberless sets, that will indulge any taste devisable.

I told you, it’s not a riddle or an arcane item, it’s something to enjoy placidly.
It came inside a handsome window box, printed in full color on the outside and apple green on the inside, also the figure is securely fastened by a clear plastic tray.
The figurine itself was made in pink translucent PVC, nicely molded and covered by a colorful and delicious decoration all around, in white, yellow, apple green, medium green, cyan, purple and indigo blue, also complemented by a clear bubble helmet, yeah, like an astronaut!...
People in general and collectors in particular, can say that this set is a whole blunder, but in this case as with the rest of my collection, their opinions will do very little to change my mind, about what I want to collect and that’s what I call coherence in your hobby...
