Captain America Ultimate Marvel Legends Series 8 Action Figure by Toy Biz

In the story surrounding hobbies there are hatreds and loves. Ohhh and there are some airheads, who call themselves "collectors" and may have some very good and expensive figures, but they dare to denigrate other collectible, without knowing what they’re talking about.

They think that because they spend large sums of money in their so-called hobby (since it more appears as egotism) they can pontificate as demigods what should or should not be collected (fortunately, they’re few).

Not long ago I saw someone commenting shocked, because the Marvel Legends figures were more expensive than the Revoltech figures!...

PLEASE!... Marvel Legends is a milestone and a category in itself, with a story and tradition of several years.

Their pieces are coveted by the true connoisseurs, specially those designed and manufactured by Toy Biz (no longer in production); because the vast majority are pieces with excellent detail, an elaborate paint job and made to last (in a age like ours, with disposable collection figures...).

I can say it properly, since I have in my collection both Revoltech and Marvel Legends figures and I can attest the differences (all of you can check my posts on this matter)...

Now a fortiori, because the figure I introduce today is a reflection of what I’m saying. This character created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby in 1941, the alter ego of Steve Rogers, the super soldier who became part of The Avengers, achieves in this piece a representation that makes him a lot of justice, and after a great effort I managed to get it, for my delight.

It’s a stunning figure, with 42 points of articulation, a display base with a triple articulation stem which perfectly complements it and last but not least, a trading card of Marvel Versus System and a poster type magazine with illustrations by different artists...

By the way, YES, it costs much more than a Revoltech figure and NO I’m not regretting at all for this acquisition, because it’s worth it...

Is GOD Who gives me this kind of pleasures and if HE allows, next week there will be more... =D

Spider-Man Spider-Man Classics Series • Action Figure by Toy Biz

=PPPPP

"With a great power, must come a great responsibility..." This phrase is attributed to the uncle of a guy called Peter Parker, but now I used it abusively and without any qualms, because i acquired a great power: the power of working again and all through the provision of the One and Only GOD I know: The GOD of the Bible.

And with that power also comes a great responsibility: to pay my pending bills, which were accumulated for a long time. All of you can’t even imagine the joy it gives me to do that and being "productive" again! =DDDDD...

There will be someone in the world who don’t know that Spider-Man was created in 1962 by a couple of "upstarts": Stan Lee and Steve Dikto?

Well, what all of you don’t know is that this excellent piece is not mine but from a friend / colleague, who wanted to become famous (and since he’s very cunning, he came to the right place, LOL!).

While is not the first appearance of Spidy here (check this link), actually is the first action figure, manufactured in 2000, with 30 points of articulation, very good proportion, fabulous paint job and an incredible display base.

Toy Biz has all my respect, for manufacturing durable figures, attractive and pretty playable! Now my spider instinct tells me that is time to say: see ya soon! =PPPPP

Hobgoblin The Amazing Spider-Man Series Action Figure by Toy Biz

• ¡Hola calabazita! ¿Cómo has estado?...

• Hi lil’ pumpkin! How ya been?...

•• Just riding my Goblin Glider in your ***, jerk! LOL!...

The contributions of my colleagues are about to end (at least, by the moment...) and though they have some very attractive pieces, I have my share as well.

Without anesthesia, let’s go straight to the point... In the early 80s, Roger Stern and John Romita Jr, pushed by the death of Norman Osborn / Green Goblin and abandoning the idea of return him from death, decided to create a new character to continue the legacy.

Hobgoblin was the result of their ideas and he’s, even if he doesn’t seem, an independent character, with his own successors. His real identity remained a secret for a while, creating an attractive aura of mystery around him.

Later it was revealed that Roderick Kingsley, a billionaire fashion designer, shrewd business man, connected with criminal organizations and with an impressive intellectual and analytical ability, was the person behind this arch-enemy of Spider-man.

Although Kingsley took as a basis the inventions and formulas by Osborn, he significantly improved them, to become an enemy equal or even more powerful that the Green Goblin himself. His only weakness: his exaggerated narcissism.

Ricardo Rojas, another friend and fellow collector, put at my disposal this interesting figure for its publication. It’s 6" high, with 24 points of articulation, excellent details and paint job, also it comes with the accessories which can be seen in the images. Another instant classic and delicious snack for collectors of comic characters, courtesy of Toy Biz...

Pyro Marvel Legends Series 13 (Onslaught) Action Figure by Toy Biz

• Chris: "Oye Pyro!

• "Chris: Hey Pyro! Would you like to come to a barbecue with my office mates...

•• Pyro: I’m sorry Chris, but I have to flaming some puddings in my mother-in-law’s house" LOLOLOLL!...

The owner of this blog is too trivial, but a bit of idiocy is an excellent therapy for stress, don’t you think so?...

My guest for today, proved a rather ambiguous character, although he’s widely recognized as a villain, his story has not been free from acts of heroism.

From the minds of Chris Claremont and John Byrne came Pyro in 1981; compared with other heroes/villains from the Marvel’s world, his appearance is quite recent.

Jhon Allerdyce, an Australian originally from Sidney, who worked as a journalist and novelist, discovers that he’s a mutant with the ability to manipulate fire, though he cannot generate it by himself.

His encounter with the mutant Mystique, would mark his fate, as thereafter went onto be part of many groups of villains like: the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants and in alternative stories, of the supervillain Exodus’ group or the group of ninja murderers known as Hellfire Club.

However, in the main story of this character, after he contracts a deadly disease caused by the Legacy Virus and before his death, he rescues the senator Robert Kelly, which makes the latter decides to seek for the world’s peace between humans and mutants.

This is another figure from a colleague that passed my filters of selection and now I publish it for the delight of my visitors.

This piece is 6" high, with the original color scheme of the character, very brilliant, flashy and clean, with very nice finishing and paint job, 33 points of articulation and includes a 32-page comic and the bottom trunk of Onslaught.

These series were discontinued and Hasbro now produces several series of Marvel Legends, but their features are different from those of Toy Biz. So if someone sees one of these pieces available out there, should not hesitate too much into acquiring them, seriously will not regret it...
