English version
Who would say that Microsoft Corporation, the multinational conglomerate whose main business has been the development of software solutions for other companies and for personal computing systems, part of the bundle of monopolies to which we are getting used (but we shouldn’t), would decide to become a big leagues player in the world of videogames?...

I will tell you who: someone who thinks that these movements in the industry are just "strokes of luck", willingly ignoring that these changes are meticulously planned and surreptitiously facilitated in order to succeed, by the small groups of people who own all the establishment (industry, commerce, banking system, governments, etc.)...

And these moves or changes do not have anything to do with whimsical decisions, NO, conversely, they are steps in the way to achieve ungodly levels of control over population, in all devisable aspects of their lives.

Yeah, I’m fully aware how the statement above sounds, but you either realize how the succession of events in recent history, particularly since the last century to date, points to that gloomy direction or you keep believing the prevalent and falacious narrative posing that everything around you happens randomly, it’s unavoidable, unquestionable and the less you think about it, the better...

Now, perhaps you will ask: what the latter has to do with the videogames industry or with the involvement of Microsoft with this business, since this kind of products are not in line with what this corporation usually offers?...

Well, let’s see very briefly a pair of aspects of this matter: for instance, do you remember that in the early 70s, in 1972, Atari released its legendary "Pong" game for arcades, a product with an "unexpected" success during that time, precisely when most of the population worldwide was hit hard by the fake "oil crisis" and the galloping inflation that came as an "unavoidable and logic" consequence, do you think it was a mere coincidence of events?...

Later, during the 80s, when games like Donkey Kong or Pac-Man catapulted the videogames industry and its profits to new heights, while most people were still struggling with the inflation and economic recession that started in the 70s, but continued in that decade, do you think that was a coincidence too?...

Of course, some people would say that companies like Atari, a Californian business that started virtually without money, lacking of factories or of an expert market approach, became a technology leader in the short term, just because it harnessed the chance that a troubled economy represented.

However, while you can, in a sort of plausible way, ascribe a modest success in the market for a brand specialized in videogames, amidst a battered economy; there is no way you could ascribe, in a plausible way, a success so remarkable for the videogames industry, to a "stroke of luck", bearing in mind that its revenues during the 80s surpassed the profits of the pop music and cinema industries combined, unless your naivety is bordering insanity or pathological stupidity...

This is another case in which I’m barely scratching the surface of these topics, but I think that, with the help of GOD, there will be time in future publications to address more aspects of them and I guess it will be interesting to see the industry (or industries) around collectibles, from a very different perspective, so let’s change the spotlight briefly to my guest for this review, shall we?...

My regular visitors know that I have been introducing recently examples of products by Hot Wheels, whose main focus is "popular culture icons" (or should I say rather of the "establishment culture"?), as part of a series of publications addressing the general matter of the change of strategy that the blue brand of Mattel is implementing, from the start of the present century onwards...

Well, following the conductive thread of that kind of items and since I like to see the "big picture", the context, I would like to compare the Hot Wheels efforts with what other brands are offering, so it’s very fitting to feature a product developed by a company that currently is part of the Simba Dickie Group, for a change...

Although, to be honest, it would be pretty unfair to compare this item, with let’s say what the brand of the flaming logo released for the 2017 Hot Wheels Retro Entertainment Series - Halo Set, just because the products developed by Jada Toys Inc., put to shame the ones by HW, yet Mattel will continue to claim that they are always the best option for adult collectors, etc...

Jada Toys Inc., on the other hand, offered its own Halo Set and what a great bundle of products I must say, but that’s to be expected, since we are talking about scale replicas, not just toy vehicles, I’m really impressed by the high overall quality of these items and the selection of models is very comprehensive, something that we as adult collectors value (you can read about other items in my collection, related with these franchise here, here and here).

I got it through the secondary market, with the help of a friend of mine, fellow collector and importer / private seller, pretty much 10 years ago; it belongs to the 2012 Halo 4 Series 1, in this case it’s the Combat Edition, but there is also a Collector’s Edition, with less accessories and an Arctic Edition, with a different color scheme for the vehicle.

It has diecast body and plastic chassis in medium silver with metal flake finishing, yet it has a good weight; the level of detail is very high and it’s not just the fact that it was developed in 1:35 scale, it’s that Jada really wanted to offer a proper replica for adult collectors and you can notice its commitment naked eye: this is the way you show that your interest in us is way more that just marketing paraphernalia or cheap wordiness.

The paint job was made in olive / military green with satin finishing, very neat indeed and it’s complemented by some tampos and/or decals applied with precision; there are several plastic inserts on the body, finished in silver, but also in light gunmetal, both with metal flake finishing and some parts received black paint with satin finishing too.

The interiors were finely worked, with lots of detail and an exhaustive paint job made in light gunmetal and silver, with metal flake finishing, but it also received gray and black paint, with matte finishing, a pair of stickers were applied to the dashboard.

There are more plastic inserts for the Chain Gun / Mini Gun Turret, that is removable and rotatable, painted in light gunmetal with metal flake finishing, silver, golden, olive / military green and bright red, with additional white tampos and the jerrycan holder, with four units, received black and dark red paint with satin finishing.

The windshield is clear, the wheels are multipart, featuring a very accurate and realistic, 10 Slots rims design in olive / military green, inspired by the ones in a Hummer, with styled synthetic rubber tires; the "cherry on top" is a pair of articulated minifigures, carefully molded and painted, representing a Master Chief and a Marine included for this set and it was made in China...

Ezk 38:21-23 "And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the LORD GOD: every man's sword shall be against his brother. And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone. Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD."

Halo 3 Vehicles - Warthog - ML12 LRV (Light Reconnaissance and Attack Military Vehicle) - Series 1 (2008) by McFarlane Toys

All the combat videogames that I know, have their own squadron of vehicles specially created to destroy the enemy or at least, to cause the greater damage possible.

Many of them have great designs which remain in your mind for a while. However, the best known among all of them is doubtless the Warthog.

Halo and its sagas have an army of followers around the world, so you can ask someone from Queensland, Australia or from Dobrnja (Tuzla) Bosnia and Herzegovina or from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia or from Bogotá, D.C., Colombia and they will give you some information about Halo, but the fame of the Warthog is even more widespread and you can see one of them available in the Forza Motorsport 4 videogame as well.

The ML12 LRV is a military vehicle for reconnaissance and light attack, very versatile and with many choices of weapons, indeed is also known as the Humvee from the future, fair enough!...

This is the completion of the Halo 3 Series by McFarlane Toys and I’m proud to present the most representative of the trio.

The Ghost and the Brute Chopper were already published so I owed all of you this eyecandy.

It’s a precious replica in a scale between 1:50 and 1:55, I guess, with an impressive amount of details and a muddy finish which gives it even more realism.

The wheels roll pretty fine and the turret can rotate, so this is a vehicle in all the sense of the word and not just a statue or a "static diorama".

Well, I think the stuff here are getting better or at least they’re changing as much as I do and I’m having so much fun, that goes without saying! =PPPPP...

I will keep walking with my eyes on the Author of my Salvation and you better be warned because He will come back soon... See you next week... =)

Halo 3 Vehicles - Brute Chopper - Series 1 (2008) by McFarlane Toys

It’s been a while since I published my first Halo vehicle here (the Ghost), then my mind began to rambling and it was distracted by other kind of stuff (great stuff I must say!) but I decided to revisit the topic.

Microsoft made (and is making) millions of dollars with this game and there are some reputable brands making some money as well with this franchise, one of them is precisely McFarlane Toys.

The Type 25 Rapid Assault Vehicle a.k.a. Brute Chopper is a light / medium ground assault vehicle, heavily armored in its front, equipped with a pair of 35 mm auto-cannons and its chassis acts like a blade.

It boast a high versatility for rapid and close attack but a demanding maneuverability, so if you have some skills it could be your partner through most of the game.

I’ve always appreciated the quality in the collection figures made by McFT, but they do a not less commendable work on vehicles, dioramas, display bases, etc.

I love all the nice details achieved here and admire its display base, which features a peg with a swiveling ball joint which let you vary the position easily...

I will not stop to praise the Goodness of the LORD Jesus Christ, all the gifts we have comes from Him and I hope He will let me publish something more next week... =)

Halo 3 Vehicles -Ghost- Series 1 (2008) by McFarlane Toys

My encounter with Halo was relatively recent, years after its first release Halo Combat Evolved in 2001 and my impression about it is summarized as: very good graphics, but is a bit too far to capture my attention like... Let’s say... Quake 2?...

I’m not saying that the game is bad, NO, but is somewhat disappointing that it’s so short...

Now, I understand that the development of a videogame requires an enormous effort of an interdisciplinary team and there is usually an inverse relation between the quality of the graphics and the length/number of levels available.

Wanting to get a life, I decided to play less and collect more (better for my health, worse for my budget HAHAHA) so I decided as well, to get for me these replicas in miniature, just to not leave Halo in the "room of oblivion"...

McFarlane used its let’s call it "king Midas’ touch" to bring to life these vehicles and did it "all legit".

The Ghost is an air/ground one-man fast and light attack vehicle, with anti-gravity propulsion which achieves an excellent reproduction here (with approximately 4" long), filled with detail, a rich paint job and a stand base that fits it like a glove.

Thank GOD there is something different here every week, with just one single threat: what you see, is what I like... See you next time... =)
