Scarlet Medieval Witchblade 1998 Witchblade Series 1 Resin Figure by Moore Action Collectibles

Me resultó un poco difícil encontrar información sobre este personaje en particular. 

Witchblade, esa poderosa arma mística que ya ha sido mencionada en anteriores publicaciones, ha tenido varias portadoras a lo largo de la historia. 

Una de ellas vivió en la edad media, más exactamente en el siglo XII D.C., y es conocida apenas por el nombre de Katarina; una guerrera mercenaria que creía en la justicia, luchaba por ella con gran destreza y valentía, cualidades que fueron aumentadas considerablemente por el poder de Witchblade.

Ella aparece en una historia tipo crossover de comic (Image / Top Cow), en la cual lucha al lado del Medieval Spawn contra el poder de Darkness. También aparece en otro crossover (Chaos / Top Cow) junto a Lady Death para batallar contra poderosos demonios; debo decir que allí aparecen como un par de temibles bombas super sexis... ¡HA!

En cuanto a la figura, debo aclarar que hay disponibles tres versiones, pero yo me decidí por esta, la Scarlet, pues su esquema de color me pareció el más atractivo. 

Es una despampanante pieza de 6" de alto, con el meritorio nivel de detalle y trabajo de pintura que puede esperarse de Moore Action Collectibles. Además incluye como accesorios: una linda capa que si bien no ondea, si logra la sensación correcta de peso que tendría a escala real, cuidadosamente elaborada y con un brocado color plata, un hacha, una lanza, una estupenda espada y su respectiva base estampada en verde metalizado. 

Finalmente tengo en mi colección a los personajes principales de esta asombrosa historia de cómic y me siento más que satisfecho... =D

It was a bit hard for me to find information about this particular character. 

Witchblade, that powerful mystical weapon that has been already mentioned in previous publications, has had several bearers along the history. 

One of them lived in the middle age, more precisely in the twelfth century A.D., and is know only by the name of Katarina; a mercenary warrior who believed in justice, fought for it with great skill and courage, qualities that were considerably increased by the power of Witchblade.

She appears in a crossover story of comic (Image / Top Cow), in which fights alongside the Medieval Spawn against the power of Darkness. She also appears in other crossover (Chaos / Top Cow) with Lady Death to battle powerful demons; I must say that they appear there, as a pair of fearsome super sexy bombshells... LOL!

As for the figure I must clarify that there are three versions, but I made my decision on this one, the Scarlet, since its color scheme seemed for me the most attractive. 

This is an stunning piece 6" high, with the commendable level of detail and paint job that can be expected from Moore Action Collectibles. Also includes as accessories: a nice cape that while not flow, it gets the proper sense of weight that it would have in real scale, carefully manufactured and with a silver brocade, a hatchet, a spear, a great sword and its respective base foil stamped in green metallic. 

Finally I have in my collection the main characters of this amazing story of comic and I feel more than satisfied... =D

Spawn 10th Anniversary Image Comics Heroes Series - Special Limited Edition by McFarlane Toys

Cierro este ciclo con la última pieza, perteneciente a este sorprendente e injustamente poco estimado set de McFarlane. 

Y es un cierre con broche de oro, al mejor estilo de Todd, quien no escatimó recursos en la fabricación de la figura emblema de esta serie.

Aquí, Al Simmons el mercenario con un pasado lleno de rencor y deseo de venganza, que cuando mere, es escogido para servir como general de las huestes infernales: Spawn, es recreado con un nivel de detalle y articulación inédito hasta el momento.

Sin demeritar las otras piezas del grupo que son muy sugestivas a mi modo de ver, esta es la única que puede llamarse con propiedad figura de acción y por ello permite exhibirlo en diferentes poses dinámicas. 

Fabricada principalmente en resina y PVC, de unas 6" de alto sin base (alcanza las 12" sobre la base de exhibición), con cadenas metálicas incluídas, sobresaliente trabajo de pintura y moldeada con dedicación (tanto la figura en sí como su display de exhibición) resulta el complemento ideal en la colección de un aficionado a este controvertido personaje.

I close this cycle with the last piece, belonging to this remarkable and unjustly underestimated set of McFarlane. 

And it’s closing with a flourish, in the best style of Todd, who spared no resources in the making of the emblem figure in this series.

Here, Al Simmons the mercenary with a past full of resentment and the firm will of revenge, who when he dies, he is chosen to serve as general of the infernal hosts: Spawn, is recreated with a detail and level of articulation unknown until now.

Without underestimate the other pieces of the group which are, in my personal concept, very suggestive, this is the only one that can be called properly action figure and therefore it can be displayed in different dynamic poses. 

Made mainly of resin and PVC, about 6" high without base (reaches 12" above the display base), with metallic chains included, outstanding paint job and molded with dedication (both the figure itself and its display base) is the ideal complement in the collection of a fan of this controversial character.

Image Comics es uno de los relativamente pocos intentos, por buscar independencia, de los creadores de personajes e historias dentro de esta variante del arte contemporáneo. 

Marvel Comics, sin embargo, es la Casa Matriz (por derecho propio) en la que han sido formadas parte de las antiguas y nuevas generaciones de artistas del cómic norteamericano, su influencia es innegable en casi todos los aspectos concebibles y aún DC Comics es deudora de su legado.

Este personaje, es un ejemplo, llamado Shadow Hawk, cuyo nombre fue concebido en Marvel por Tom DeFalco (para su personaje StarHawk, cuando éste hacia uso de poderes oscuros...) quién convenció a Jim Valentino para crear otro personaje a partir de este nombre. 

Este superhéroe, cuyo poder reside en su casco, llamado casco de Helu o Nommo, es un instrumento usado por un espíritu del antiguo Egipto para hacer justicia; en este casco residen también los espíritus de las personas que encarnaron a este personaje en épocas anteriores y, en el presente, se creó un exo-esqueleto que sirve como armadura e incrementa las habilidades del portador.

El principal portador conocido fue Paul Johnstone, a quien siguió Eddie Collins, incluso en una serie posterior el personaje fue encarnado por un robot. 

Este personaje no puede negar su semejanza con Batman (DC) y Wolverine (Marvel) en su apariencia, pero su historia y circunstancias son diferentes.

La pieza de 6" de alto, en PVC y resina es, como las dos piezas anteriormente publicadas (Savage Dragon y Ripclaw), más una estatua que una figura de acción. 

Las imágenes dan cuenta de la excelente calidad en su trabajo de pintura y tiene gran riqueza en detalles, además de la base tipo diorama que realza su encanto en exhibición.

Image Comics is one of the few attempts, in the quest for independence, of the creators of characters and stories within this variant of contemporary arts. 

Marvel Comics, however, is the Headquarters (by its own right) in which were formed part of the old and new generations of north American comic artists, its influence is undeniable in almost all conceivable aspects and even DC Comics is indebted to its legacy.

This character, is an example, called Shadow Hawk, whose name was conceived in Marvel by Tom DeFalco (for his character StarHawk, when he used his dark powers...) who convinced to Jim Valentino to create another character based in this name. 

This superhero, whose power rests in his helmet, called helmet of Helu or Nommo, is an instrument used by a spirit of ancient Egypt, to do justice; in this helmets rests as well the spirits of the persons who embodied this character in the past and, in the present, it was created an exo-skeleton that works as an armor and increases the abilities of the bearer.

The main bearer known was Paul Johnstone, who was followed by Eddie Collins, even in later series the character was embodied by a robot. 

This character can’t deny his similarity with Batman (DC) and Wolverine (Marvel) in his appearance, but his story and circumstances are different.

The piece itself, 6" high, in PVC and resin is, as the two pieces previously published (Savage Dragon and Ripclaw), more a statue than an action figure. 

The images testify about the excellent quality in its paint job and the richness in detail, besides the base type diorama enhances its charm in exhibition.

Por si alguien no se ha dado cuenta, en mis publicaciones estoy alternando figuras del manga / animé y del cómic. 

Disfruto de ambos mundos por igual y creo que eso me hace un coleccionista de mente más abierta, definitivamente NO me limito. Como he venido diciendo: mi deleite es la variedad.

Ahora vayamos de lleno a la historia de este personaje: Ripclaw. Sus orígenes son desconocidos, aunque se especula que perteneció a una tribu Apache, pero tuvo que abandonar a sus congéneres cuando descubre su mutación. 

Su nombre: Robert Bearclaw y definitivamente es uno de los pocos superhéroes con un profundo sentido de la ética y la moral, precisamente por la herencia de sus ancestros nativo-americanos. 

Tiene la habilidad de asumir ciertos atributos de animales como los dientes y garras de un oso; luego de un accidente, sus manos fueron reemplazadas por implantes cibernéticos y la habilidad mutante que tenía, se incorporó a esos implantes que él puede convertir en garras o manos, a voluntad, de forma inexplicable. 

Así mismo, puede comunicarse con espíritus ancestrales y cuenta con percepción extrasensorial. ¡Todo un personaje creado por Marc Silvestri!...

La figura (que pertenece a mi amigo Ricardo Contreras, quien la cedió, junto con otras más que publicaré luego, para que su afición será conocida aquí también...) tiene 6" de alto, una excelente ejecución en su detalle y trabajo de pintura, el diorama que lo acompaña y en general la calidad de esta pieza de McFarlane... Bueno, si quiero tenerla tenerla, pero ya mi presupuesto fue noqueado... ¡HA!

In case anyone has not noticed it, I’m alternating manga / anime and comic figures in my publications. 

I enjoy both worlds in the same way and I think that makes me an open minded collector, definitely I DON’T limit myself. As I have been saying: my delight is variety.

Now going entirely to the story of this character: Ripclaw. His origins are unknown, although there is a speculation that he belonged to an Apache tribe, but he had to abandon his congeners when he discovers his mutation. 

His name: Robert Bearclaw and definitely he is one of the few superheroes with a deep sense of ethics and morality, precisely by his native-American heritage. 

He has the ability to assume certain animal attributes like the teeth and claws of a bear; after an accident, his hands were replaced by cybernetic implants and the mutant ability that he had, joined his implants so he can transform them into claws or hands, at will, in an inexplicable way. 

Likewise, he can communicate with his ancestral spirits and he has extrasensory perception. Such a character created by Marc Silvestri!...

The figure (which belongs to my friend Ricardo Contreras, who ceded it, along with others I will publish later, so his hobby will be known here too...) is 6" high, an excellent work in its details and paint job, its accompanying diorama and, in general, the quality of this McFarlane’s piece... Well, I do want to have it, but my budget was knocked out... LOL!
