=) ENGLISH When I was younger, I used to draw a lot of cars that emerged from my own imagination and I could do it for hours...
I drew other stuff as well, but mainly cars and I enjoyed it a lot!...
I still draw cars sometimes, but as an adult, my spare time is very little although I do my best to distribute it...
I think one of my frustrated dreams is to be a car designer.
Instead, I became a graphic designer which is not bad at all, but what if as a car designer I were another zillionare? LOLOLOL...
When I returned to collect diecast scale replicas, I realized that there is a group of lucky guys whose work is precisely to design diecast and I’m still wondering how they can get money (even big money) having so much fun?! =OOOOO...
I’m pretty sure that all the companies involved in the manufacturing of diecast have a team of designers to create their products, but while some of them bear in mind the accuracy with the actual model, others like Hot Wheels, Matchbox or Majorette for instance, give more freedom to create delicious extravagances which are a pleasure for collectors like me!...
I’m fully aware that this is not the cup of coffee of some fellow collectors but that will not deprive me of collecting what I please...
One of those lucky guys I already mentioned is Mr. Larry Wood, who is quite a celebrity in these matters.
The former designer of Mattel-Hot Wheels has created a lot of crazy designs highly sought by collectors around the world...
I think that I will share more details on this personality of the diecast design guild in future publications but for now, let’s enjoy the model itself reviewing its features...
This diecast belongs to one of the several Adult lines by Hot Wheels, known as Garage, which is usually accompanied by the name of the corresponding HW designer / former designer, in this case we are looking at the work of Larry Wood (a.k.a. Elwood).
I acquired this model from another friend / fellow collector and I was not pretty sure about it, I mean, I had some money extra to invest, but I had not a specific model in mind so, I inspected it carefully and made my decision...
The model obviously is not a reproduction of a real car but it has the main elements of a typical Hot Rod, probably based on a 1932 Ford Sedan Delivery.
Diecast body and engine with plastic chrome chassis, an excellent paint job / tampos, the flat light gray looks sober but the flames decor makes a great contrast and creates the right feeling.
Real Riders tires (synthetic rubber) with special treatment in the wheels design, the whole effect is just badass!...
Mat 11:28-30 "Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
HAHAHAHAHA =)
I guess u know my taste of "realism" so this kind of car is something that I dont collect, just personal taste, i m a boring old fashion old man LOL. Anyway this rare looks is unique and I guess there are many fans like you who like such "different" model.
yeah, i know... a saying says "in matters of tastes there are no troubles"... as a designer, i like crazy stuff as well as realistic stuff so, i try to combine... indeed there are some realistic stuff on the way !!!... =)

My alternate blog in WordPress
From now, I will be publishing basically the same contents in both blogs, but for reviews before March 18, 2019, you must read my Blogger blog...
I’m a professional graphic designer and a restful collector, but above all: I’m someone who doesn’t take for granted anything, just because someone else says so. I think this hobby goes way beyond buying stuff here and there: anybody with money can buy collectibles, but not anybody becomes collector by doing so. I think as well that this hobby is, more than anything, about knowledge, about making sense of what happens around us and just like any other kind of knowledge, if it’s devoid of ethics, is worthless. I like to address topics around collectionism, including, but not limited to: history, industry, forums, groups, collectors, distributors, sellers, etc. I’m fully aware that criticism is essential for our hobby: everything is susceptible of improvement and we the collectors demand quality, but the industry around it doesn’t necessarily shares that vision. After all, well-targeted criticism always helps to detect failures and correct them, it’s like critical thinking: it helps you see things as they really are and not just as how they are presented to you. If you are someone who likes to look beyond the surface, welcome, if that is not the case, continue at your own risk...
