ENGLISH There are a lot of customizers out there!...
Many of them just come and go, nobody knows them except by their moms and dads...
It doesn’t mean that their work is less interesting than those made by the "masters" (or at least, of those with higher media advertising and visibility)...
You must admit that an awesome customization demands a looooot of money...
Yeah, I know about the TV shows of car customization which with "barely" US$25,000 or so, create something...
But seriously, do you think that it will cost the same in the real life?... You gotta be kidding me! =PPPPP
Now, the customization of cars didn’t begin with Fast and Furious (six versions, so far... A bit too much for me!) and I can afford to say that the most reputed car customizers are in the edge of the 60 years old (and some of them had already passed away ;((((().
Let me introduce you one of those old school masters: Mr. Thom Taylor.
He’s from California (where wild things happen often) but his natural place happens to be the center of the Rod and Custom world.
He’s a car designer / customizer, but he’s not involved in the construction of models that he creates, except as a consultant.
Looking at his work, I can say that he truly respects and admires the classics, mostly from the decades of the 20s to the 60s...
But when he takes any of those cars, these are transformed into futuristic pieces of art on wheels, with sleek lines, where the "excess" of chrome trims is replaced by clean sheets of metal and a single body color usually... Pretty neat!
Sometimes the images speak better than the words and you’re looking precisely at one of the Thom Taylor’s works: The Bad Bird, based on a 1962 Ford Thunderbird.
This is a vintage diecast replica by Johnny Lightning, but you can watch by your own what I’m talking about...
The casting is exquisite as much as the paint job in ocher polychrome, also there is a great work on the tampos.
Diecast body / chassis construction with very nice details in the interiors (although, there is no opening hood =/////).
The rubber tires, on the other hand, seem too big for my taste, since the actual car was created as a Lowrider, but the white wall gives them a classic look, along with the rims featuring a Cragar design, so the final outcome is not bad at all.
This series is individually numbered (mine is # 06499), a nice printed token is included (with a picture of the actual car!) and everything is packed in a big, thick and colorful card, that’s JL’s hallmark!...
Mal 3:1-2 "Behold, I will send my messenger and he shall prepare the way before Me: and the LORD, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to His temple, even the Messenger of the Covenant, whom ye delight in. Behold, He shall come, saith the LORD of hosts. But who may abide the day of His coming? and who shall stand when He appeareth? for He is like a refiner's fire and like fullers' soap."
I love roadster!!! the rear top part of this car reminded me of those Porsche Boxter Spyder. I don't really fancy gold color for a car, pink or red or even matte yellow would be much much more brilliant for this car (if I were to owned it) LOL....
the old american roadsters are beautiful and huge !!!... the original 1962 Ford Thunderbird was a 2-door, 4-seat, full size convertible/hardtop/coupe, but this one was heavily modified and simplified so, yep, it looks like a roadster... since this model is not available in red or pink or plain yellow, i put a red background to suit your taste, pal... LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL =)
Sleek and plain roadster. Kind of look like a flying saucer or should I say a rocket. The colour differential to the tyre added character to it as well...
in the 50s and 60s the streamline design was the rage, everything had to be fast and not furious but graceful !!! LOLOLOLOLOLOL... this convertible/roadster is a good sample of a beautiful classic transformed into a gorgeous custom from the hand of an old school master... the white wall tires gives it a special taste for sure, these are a feature always welcome, specially in this type of cars !!! =)

My alternate blog in WordPress
From now, I will be publishing basically the same contents in both blogs, but for reviews before March 18, 2019, you must read my Blogger blog...
I’m a professional graphic designer and a restful collector, but above all: I’m someone who doesn’t take for granted anything, just because someone else says so. I think this hobby goes way beyond buying stuff here and there: anybody with money can buy collectibles, but not anybody becomes collector by doing so. I think as well that this hobby is, more than anything, about knowledge, about making sense of what happens around us and just like any other kind of knowledge, if it’s devoid of ethics, is worthless. I like to address topics around collectionism, including, but not limited to: history, industry, forums, groups, collectors, distributors, sellers, etc. I’m fully aware that criticism is essential for our hobby: everything is susceptible of improvement and we the collectors demand quality, but the industry around it doesn’t necessarily shares that vision. After all, well-targeted criticism always helps to detect failures and correct them, it’s like critical thinking: it helps you see things as they really are and not just as how they are presented to you. If you are someone who likes to look beyond the surface, welcome, if that is not the case, continue at your own risk...
