Parece que últimamente tengo sentimientos encontrados con respecto a mis publicaciones recientes...
Soy feliz publicando algo en mi blog, aún cuando no tenga visitas (dejé de preocuparme por los números... Aunque están muy "saludables", si quieren saberlo... =), pero hay ciertos hechos tristes relacionados con artículos específicos en mi colección.
Por ejemplo, tengo que hablar sobre una legendaria compañía fundada en 1897: Oldsmobile.
¡Si!... Esta fue la más antigua marca norteamericana de automóviles existente... Bueno, fue, hasta 2004 ;(...
Una bien conocida debacle financiera o reorganización para evitar la bancarrota en General Motors fue la causa para ese destino tan ignominioso...
Ya saben, es como una amputación, la historia del automóvil no será la misma sin Olds ;(...
Mi nueva misión es rescatar del olvido a estas maravillosas marcas de autos, así que continuaré con el lujoso Oldsmobile Rocket 88 Sedan 2 Puertas de 1950.
Oldsmobile no fue conocida por ser una fabricante de autos de alto desempeño, más bien sus productos iban dirigidos a consumidores adultos que buscaban algo elegante y confortable.
Sin embargo, este Olds fue uno de los reyes de NASCAR entre 1949 y 1952, gracias principalmente a su motor de 303 pulgadas cúbicas (5.0 L) V8, montado en un vehículo de tamaño mediano (sip, la misma receta de los Muscle Cars =PPPPP).
Johnny Lightning golpea de nuevo (y continuará golpeando) con esta hermosa réplica a escala, que presenta un sutil esquema de pintura en diferentes tonos de plateado, una combinación sobria y con estilo, también el diseño de los rimes y tampos no tienen fallas...
Otra razón por la que JL es mi marca favorita de diecast =O...
No puedo negar la generosidad del DIOS de la Biblia, Quien me permite divertirme con esta afición, así que veamos qué traerá la próxima semana... =)

It seems that lately I have mixed feelings regarding my recent publications...
I’m happy to publish something in my blog, even if I have no visits (I stopped worrying about numbers... Although these are very healthy if you wanna know... =), but there are some sad facts related to specific items in my collection.

My new mission is to rescue from oblivion these amazing car brands, so I will continue with the luxurious 1950 Oldsmobile Rocket 88 2-Door Sedan.
Oldsmobile was not known as a high performance car manufacturer, rather its products were aimed to adult consumers which wanted something sleek and comfy.
However, this Olds was one of the NASCAR’s kings between 1949 and 1952, thanks mostly to its 303 cu in (5.0 L) V8 engine, mounted in a medium size vehicle (yep, the same recipe of the Muscle Cars =PPPPP).
Johnny Lightning strikes again (and will continue striking) with this beautiful scale replica, which features a subtle paint scheme with slightly different tones of silver, a sober and stylish combination, also the rims design and tampos are flawless...
Just another reason why JL is my favorite diecast brand =O...
I cannot deny the generosity of the GOD of the Bible, Who allows me have some fun with this hobby, so let’s see what next week will bring here... =)

you did good in choosing this one. although, honestly, I won't consider buying it - not because I don't like it (actually I like it. I love vintage models!) but it's just not my line.. as you know I am a muscle car collector and... I have to limit myself as the budget is limited too LOL!
back to the car, as I have read from your description above, you said it has a V8 engine?? that's one thing I would love about it! hahaha! the style looks elegant. silver-ish color made it classy and of course it is by JL so indeed the detail is great - as always.

I realised you have a lot of passion of vintage cars in diecast especially those by Johnny Lighting ( Johnnny on your post title had any extra 'N'). This 1950 Oldsmobile Rocket looks classy with he rear wheels well protected.

i understand very well your reasons for restricting the type of diecast you collect (money is always a good reason), but if your line is the Muscle Cars, well, this is indeed a precursor of the Muscle Cars and won several NASCAR races... it looks lazy, but it’s not lazy at all =P

I saw this at the local shop here for a mere USD 2.50 - I almost pick it up but then, I changed my mind... maybe because its an old brand that I don't know so my interest on it is not that great....
well, is a matter of tastes... unlike you, i just love these oldies and Oldsmobile is a more recognizable brand for me (except for its Muscle Cars, which were not available here in my country, i mean, the actual cars)... you could not compare the feeling of drive or be a passenger of one of these big beauties with the feeling of the sardine cans that we use to call cars nowadays... i already had the pleasure =)
