Esta no es la primera vez que un Caddy aparece en mi dominios (pueden echarle un vistazo a mi Cadillac CTS-V), pero es la primera aparición de un "viejito".
Cadillac es una de las divisiones de lujo de General Motors, probablemente la más conocida (las otras son: Buick -activa- y Oldsmobile -extinta-).
Esta marca es conocida también como la fabricante de los coches de lujo personales más grandes en los E.E.U.U.A., y la mayoría de ellos eran hechos a mano, así que su costo era (y es) uno de los más altos (sino el más alto) en la industria automotriz norteamericana.
El Cadillac Serie 62 de 1953 es el auto real de referencia para la réplica a escala que estoy publicando, un masivo ejemplo del fantástico trabajo del Estilista en Jefe de GM el sr. Harley Earl en la época dorada de los 50s.
Dentro de este vehículo memorable hay un motor V8 de 346 pulgadas cúbicas (5.7 L) mono-bloque o uno de 331 pulgadas cúbicas (5.4 L) OHV que ofrece entre 160 y 190 hp, suficiente para mover sus 2,0 / 2,3 toneladas con clase, pero no muy rápido.
Hot Wheels hizo un trabajo regio con este diecast, un molde finamente detallado y muy preciso, pero personalizado con un estilo pickup, además el techo y parabrisas fueron recortados, lo que lo hacen lucir bastante Lowrider; Larry Wood fue el diseñador de esta rareza.
Hay muchas versiones de este molde (incluyendo algunas con decoración especial y ruedas de caucho) y aunque no estoy acostumbrado a tener más de un diecast por modelo, estoy haciendo algunas excepciones, así que esperen más sorpresas pronto.

This is not the first time a Caddy appears in my domains (you can sneak a peek to my Cadillac CTS-V), but it’s the first appearance of and "oldie".
Cadillac is one of the luxury divisions of General Motors, probably the best known (the others are Buick -active- and Oldsmobile -extinct-).
This brand is known as well as the manufacturer of the largest personal luxury cars in the U.S.A., and most of them were hand built, so their cost was (and is) one of the highest (if not the highest) in the american automotive industry.
The 1953 Cadillac Series 62 is the actual car of reference for the scale replica I’m publishing today, a massive sample of the fantastic work made by the GM’s Styling Chief mr. Harley Earl in the golden age of the 50s.
Inside this memorable vehicle there is a 346 cu in (5.7 L) mono-block or a 331 cu in (5.4 L) OHV V8 engine that features between 160 and 190 hp, enough to move its 2.0 / 2.3 metric tons with class, but not so fast.
Hot Wheels made a great job with this diecast, a mold finely detailed and very accurate, but customized with a pick-up style, also the roof and windshield were cut which make it look very Lowrider; Larry Wood was the designer of this freak.
There are many versions of this casting (including some with special decor and rubber tires) and although I’m not used to own more than one diecast per model, I’m doing some exceptions so, you can expect more surprises soon.

I like this one, the body have less sticker decals like many other typical Hot Wheels, I dislike the color though, would be great if it's black or red.....
it seems you have a strange fixation with the red and the black... i can see it by your diecast customizations... i guess it has nothing to do with sex, right ???... LOL... this casting has many variations in color schemes and decors, i’m more a fan of great decors but if that’s not the case i prefer plain colors and this goldie is perfect for me... THX for your visits and comments, now i feel less alone in this world of collecting =)
Is this a 3-wheels-car cos I could quite see the rear tyre? The design is unique and paint job and chrome on bumper by Hotwheels seems good.
uhmmmm... this is a "conventional" 4 wheels car, pal... LOL... the 2 rear wheels are there, but the chassis is so low that you can hardly notice their existence... therefore i said is a Lowrider design... this cast is fantastic, very appealing and vintage but with lots of great details here and there, specially in the pad printing work, i love it =)
