1984 Renault 5 Turbo Racing Car -43 Tour de France Auto- 1999 M-Smart Modeel Collection Series Scale 1:43 by Del Prado Collection

Para un coleccionista adulto, en cualquier momento, conseguir una mini réplica en diecast basada en un modelo real disponible en el mercado local (o al menos, lo más parecido posible), se convierte en una necesidad... 

Quiero decir, por ejemplo, el auto de tus padres, el primer auto que condujiste o simplemente un auto que viste en tus años mozos y todavía permanece en tu memoria... 

Mi país (Colombia) tiene una amplia gama de vehículos para escoger y algunas marcas tienen sus propias plantas de ensamblaje aquí. 

Una de estas es precisamente Renault, una marca francesa con muy buena reputación en todo el orbe, una de las pocas involucradas en las carreras F1, creadora de algunos de los autos conceptuales más audaces y desde 1970 hasta 1992 ofreció uno de los más (si no el más) recordados vehículos jamás vendido en nuestro territorio: el Renault 4. 

Este fabricante de autos tiene una historia interesante así que, creo que compartiré un poco más sobre eso en publicaciones futuras... 

Por ahora, hablemos sobre el modelo que estoy publicando. 

El Renault 5 fue lanzado en 1972 y fue un suceso no solo en Francia sino en muchos países alrededor del mundo. 

Siendo un vehículo ultracompacto y económico, funcionó bastante bien durante la época de la crisis petrolera y fue producido hasta 1996. 

El Renault 5 Turbo Racing Car de 1984 pertenece a la primera generación de este vehículo, pero a diferencia de su hermano (versión de calle) es un hatchback 2 puertas de alto rendimiento, de tracción trasera creado principalmente para Rallies, con un motor Cleón de 1.397 cc, turbocargado I4 de montaje central, ¡clasificado en un máximo de 345 hp!... 

¡Viejo, eso es desempeño y la razón por la que el Renault 5 Turbo creó un culto equivalente al del Mini!... 

Además, en el diseño final de carrocería estuvo involucrado Marcello Gandini de Bertone (¡el mismo diseñador del Lamborghini Urraco Rally!). 

En mi infancia, ví uno de estos modelos rodando por nuestras maltratadas calles y no lo pude olvidar. 

A pesar de su longevidad, luce delicioso y algunos de estos son competidores en circuitos de carreras cerca de mi ciudad natal por lo cual sip, significan algo para mí... =PPPPP 

Mi primer diecast de escala 1:43 es publicado y uno que he visto personalmente (aunque no en esta versión de Rally), así que estoy muy complacido con él. 

Del Prado Collection fue una selección de series generales y luego específicas de modelos en diecast, que era totalmente desconocida para mí, hasta que conseguí este modelo. 

Parece pertenecer a la Serie Racing Cars, un grupo de mini réplicas de autos en escala 1:43, que fue lanzada después de 1999, por la casa editorial española Ediciones Del Prado, con moderado éxito en España y reeditada en muchos otros países de Europa, América y Asia. 

El modelo original está maravillosamente reproducido en este diecast, venía en una caja con ventana que estaba en un estado deplorable, pero no me importa, porque no colecciono empaques y además, el modelo mismo, que es lo que realmente importa, está intacto. 

Esta pieza es difícil de conseguir hoy en día, está llena de detalles grandiosos, que empiezan con el molde preciso (carrocería en diecast/chasis plástico), continuando con el lindo trabajo de pintura (basado, por supuesto en el auto real y con los colores corporativos de Renault) y aún mejores tampos/calcomanías, el trabajo realista en las ruedas y terminando con los finos acabados de los interiores, los insertos plásticos para las luces delanteras/traseras/exploradoras y la base de exhibición... 

Nada mal para un coleccionable relativamente raro y vintage, ¡EH!... 

Gen 5:21-24 "Vivió Enoc sesenta y cinco años y engendró a Matusalén. Y caminó Enoc con Dios después que engendró a Matusalén, trescientos años y engendró hijos e hijas. For an adult diecast collector, at any moment, getting a diecast mini replica based on a real model available in the local market (or at least, the closest match), becomes a need... 

I mean, for example, the car of your parents, the first car you drove or simply a car you saw in your younger years and still remains in your memory... 

My country (Colombia) has a wide range of vehicles to choose and some brands have their own assembly plants here. 

One of them is precisely Renault, a french brand with very good reputation worldwide, one of the few involved in the F1 racing, creator of some of the most daring concept cars and from 1970 to 1992 offered one of the most (if not the most) memorable vehicles ever sold in our territory: the Renault 4. 

This car manufacturer has an interesting history so, I think that I will share a bit more about it in future publications... 

By now, let’s talk about the model I’m publishing. 

The Renault 5 was released in 1972 and was a big success not only in France but in many countries around the world. 

Being an ultracompact and economical vehicle, it worked pretty fine during the time of the oil crisis and was produced until 1996. 

The 1984 Renault 5 Turbo Racing Car belongs to the first generation of this model, but unlike its brother (street version) is a high-performance 2-door hatchback, rear wheel drive created mainly for rallying, featuring a mid-mounted 1,397 cc Cleón turbocharged I4 engine rated at a maximum of 345 hp!... 

Man, that’s performance and the reason why the Renault 5 Turbo created a cult equivalent to that of the Mini !!!... 

Moreover, in the final bodywork design was involved Marcello Gandini from Bertone (the same designer of the Lamborghini Urraco Rally!). 

In my infancy, I saw one of these models rolling down our battered streets and I couldn’t forget about it. 

Despite its longevity it looks delicious and some of them are competitors in racing circuits near my hometown so yeah, this car means something for me... =PPPPP 

My first 1:43 scale diecast model is published and one that I could see in person (although not in this Rally version) so, I’m really pleased with it. 

Del Prado Collection was a selection of general and then specific lines of diecast models, that was totally unknown for me till I got this model. 

It seems to belong to the Racing Cars Series, a group of mini replicas of cars in 1:43 scale, which was released for after 1999, by the Spanish publishing house Ediciones Del Prado, with moderate success in Spain and reissued in many other countries of Europe, America and Asia. 

The original model is wonderfully reproduced in this diecast, it came in a window box that was in a deplorable condition, but I don’t care, because I don’t collect packaging and in addition, the model itself, which is what really matters, is intact. 

This piece hard to find nowadays, is full of great details, which start with the accurate cast itself (diecast body/plastic chassis), continuing with a nice paint job (based, of course, on the actual car and with the corporate colors of Renault) and even better tampos / decals, the realistic work on the wheels and ending up with the fine finishes of the interiors, the plastic inserts for the scouts/head/rear lights and the display base... 

Not bad for a relatively rare and vintage collectible, HUH!...
