Los autos personalizados no piden tu permiso para ser geniales, ellos no necesitan tu aprobación, no siguen tendencias o reglas... 

Odian el estándar, el promedio, el aburrimiento... 

Se olvidaron de la proporción, la mesura, el sentido común... 

No pretenden ser tu carro para todos los días, ellos no están limitados por la lista de accesorios de fábrica... 

Son alérgicos a la gente pusilánime, tímida, recatada... 

No son el favorito de todos (en realidad, no lo necesitan tampoco) y no son lo que esperabas... 

Por otra parte, ellos fueron un dibujo en un pedazo de papel o un modelo 3D digital, hecho habilidosamente o descuidadamente, pero con una clara intención, con la mente y también con el alma... 

Son un sueño hecho realidad, un punto de vista personal, una declaración sobre ruedas, un homenaje a algo o alguien... 

Pueden ser odiados, criticados, despreciados o amados, aclamados, apreciados, pero nunca ignorados... 

Si no te gustan, debes vivir con eso y reconocer que alguien es más atrevido que tú, materializando una idea que puede llevar a su creador a cualquier sitio, con el estilo y la singularidad que tu apenas puedes soñar. 

Los coches personalizados, con toda la controversia e insolencia que los caracteriza, son precisamente el tipo de vehículos que se ajustan a mi gusto como un guante... 

Ese es el motivo por el cual traje de vuelta un clásico lujoso, un Hot Rod indiscutible y uno de los santos griales de los personalizadores, todo al mismo tiempo y no en la forma stock/original sino modificado: el Mercury Coupé Custom de 1949. 

Puesto que este es para mí un modelo arquetípico y de hecho es su tercera aparición en mi humilde blog, deberán acostumbrarse a su silueta particular, porque podría ser mi invitado de nuevo =PPPPP... 

Como el productor de diecast más grande del mundo, Hot Wheels tiene suficiente dinero para pagar todas las licencias necesarias para los modelos más comunes e incluso los poco comunes en su catálogo. 

Cuando digo poco común, quiero dar a entender, los modelos que otras compañías de diecast no fabrican, por ejemplo, el Hyundai Tiburon. 

Sin embargo, algunas veces HW decide crear modelos basados en coches reales (stock o custom), pero cambia sus nombres originales, ya sea porque no quiere pagar una licencia o por diversión. 

No sé exactamente cual es el caso aquí, todo lo que puedo decir es que este modelo fue diseñado por Larry Wood, denominado Purple Passion y lanzado en 1990. 

Sólo para que quede constancia, este particular modelo es uno de los más populares entre los coleccionistas y tiene alrededor de 73 ediciones, incluyendo variantes, ¡lo cual es bastante respetable en "apenas" 23 años de existencia!... 

Ahora, seamos claros en esto: el Purple Passion está aquí, no por su popularidad, sino porque me fascina, punto. 

El diseño personalizado para este modelo es notable: el frente del Mercury de 1949 fue simplificado, los paneles laterales fueron enderezados, el "exceso" de cromo fue removido, el techo fue cortado y recibió una silueta de cuña, el baúl fue altamente modificado con la adición de dos aletas y una especie de deflector de aire abajo, finalmente, ¡la apariencia general es bastante Lowrider!... 

Me las arreglé para conseguir cinco ediciones de diferentes series, tanto de líneas Regulares vintage / recientes como de líneas Adultas / para coleccionistas. 

Todas ellas presentan carrocería en diecast con chasis en plástico cromado, trabajos de pintura hermosos, decoraciones peculiares (finos tampos), dos de ellos tienen llantas tipo Real Riders con diseño de rimes Chrome Hub, líneas blancas y uno de ellos tiene ruedas tipo Comolded, muy inusuales. 

Me encantaría tener un montón de diecast de este modelo, pero mi presupuesto está bastante restringido últimamente ;(((((...

The customized cars don’t ask for your permission to be awesome, they don’t need your approval, don’t follow trends or rules... 

They hate the standard, the average, the boredom... 

They forgot about the proportion, the moderation, the common sense... 

They don’t pretend to be your everyday car, they are not limited by the factory list of accessories... 

They are allergic to pusillanimous, shy, demure people... 

They are not the everyone’s favorite (actually, they don’t need it either) and they are not what you expected... 

On the other hand, they were a drawing in a piece of paper or a digital 3D model, made skillfully or carelessly but with a clear intention, with the mind and also with the soul... 

They are a dream come true, a personal point of view, a statement on wheels, an homage to something or someone... 

They could be hated, criticized, despised or loved, acclaimed, appreciated, but never ignored... 

If you don’t like them, you must live with it and admit that someone is more daring than you, materializing an idea that can take the creator everywhere, with the style and singularity that you hardly can dream. 

The customized cars with all the controversy and insolence which characterizes them, are precisely the kind of vehicles that fits my taste like a glove... 

That’s why I brought back a luxurious classic, an indisputable Hot Rod and one of the holy grails of the customizers, all at the same time and not in the stock/original form but modified: the 1949 Mercury Coupe Custom. 

Since this is an archetypal model for me and is indeed its third appearance in my humble blog, you should get used to its particular shape, because it could be my guest again =PPPPP... 

As the world’s largest producer of diecast, Hot Wheels has enough money to buy all the necessary licenses for the more common and even the uncommon models in its catalog. 

When I say uncommon, I mean the models that other diecast companies do not manufacture, for instance, the Hyundai Tiburon. 

However, sometimes HW decides to create models based on actual cars (stock or custom), but changes their original names, either because they don’t want to pay a license or just for fun. 

I don’t know exactly what’s the case here, all I can say is that this model was designed by Larry Wood, dubbed Purple Passion and released in 1990.

Now, let’s be clear in this: the Purple Passion is here, not because of its popularity, but because it fascinates me, period. 

The custom design for this model is remarkable: the front of the 1949 Mercury was simplified, the side panels were straightened, the "excess" of chrome was removed, the top was chopped and received a wedge shape, the trunk was heavily modified with the addition of two fins and a sort of low spoiler, finally, the overall appearance is quite Lowrider!... 

I managed to get five editions from different series, both from vintage / recent Regular lines and Adult / collector lines. 

All of them feature diecast body with plastic chrome chassis, beautiful paint jobs, quirky decorations (fine tampos), two of them have Real Riders type tires with Chrome Hub rims design, white lines and one of them have the very unusual Comolded type wheels. 

I would like to have a lot of diecast of this model, but my budget is very restricted lately ;(((((...
