Aquaman DC Armory Series Action Figure by DC Direct

Hablando de contradicciones... Permanecí bastante tiempo reacio a explorar las profundidades del cómic, obnubilado por el mundo exótico del animé. 

Sin embargo, mi deseo bizarro no puede limitarse y toma bocados de los dos universos, estar satisfecho.

En 1941, hizo su debút el personaje que hoy nos atañe: Acuaman, gracias al ingenio de Paul Norris y Mort Weisinger. 

Aunque fue subestimado como superhéroe, por la aparente inutilidad de sus poderes, en la Edad de Plata del cómic (1950 - 1960) pudo dársele un trasfondo más relevante a su historia y origen, así que Acuaman dejó de ser un paladín de tercera categoría. 

Arthur Curry, posteriormente conocido como Orín, es descendiente de los habitantes de la Atlántida y de ello deriva sus poderes telepáticos que le permiten comunicarse con la fauna marina, fuerza y resistencia sobrehumanas, él puede permanecer indefinidamente bajo el agua aunque sólo por cortos periodos en la superficie y al nadar alcanza velocidades increíbles.

En la serie limitada "Nuestros Mundos en Guerra", para defender a su amada ciudad Poseidonis del devastador ataque de Imperiex, el más grande archienemigo conocido de todo el universo DC, debe usar esta particular armadura y el tridente del dios Neptuno... Aunque lucha con denuedo es derrotado y muere con honor.

Si bien no soy fan de Acuamán, DC Direct logró ponerlo en mi radar, gracias a esta singular figura de colección. Es otra pieza de la serie Armory, de 7" de alto, con 11 puntos de articulación y tiene un diseño de armadura con un look menos "high tech" y más medieval. 

Su moldeado da la apariencia de ser más artesanal que el de las otras piezas de este set, pero resulta un excelente contraste gracias a la calidad en su detalle y a su fabuloso trabajo de pintura. 

Es complementada por su respectiva base de exhibición, que sin duda es un gran acierto para incrementar su encanto a la hora de ser exhibida.

Talking about contradictions... I remained enough time reluctant to explore the depths of comics, obsessed with the exotic world of anime. 

However, my bizarre desire cannot be limited and takes bites of the two universes, to be satisfied.

In 1941, makes his debut the character that concern us today: Aquaman, thanks to the wit of Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger. 

Although he was underestimated as superheroe, due to the apparent futility of his powers, in the Silver Age of comic (1950 - 1960) could be given a more relevant background to his story and origins, so Aquaman ceased to be a third category champion. 

Arthur Curry, later known as Orin, is descended from the inhabitants of Atlantis and from this fact is derived his telepathic powers that allowing him to communicate with marine life, superhuman strength and endurance, he can stay under water indefinitely though only for short periods on the surface and when he swims reaches incredible speed.

In the limited series "Our Worlds in War", to defend his beloved city Poseidonis against the devastating attack of Imperiex, the greatest arch-enemy known until now in the entire DC universe, he must use this unique armor and the trident of Neptune... Although he fights with courage, he is defeated and dies with honor.

While I’m not a fan of Aquaman, DC Direct was able to put him on my radar, thanks to this singular collection figure. It’s another piece of the Armory series, 7" high, with 11 points of articulation and has an armor design with a look less "high tech" and more medieval. 

Its cast gives the appearance of being more handcrafted than the other pieces of this set, but is an excellent contrast due to the quality of its detail and the fabulous paint job. 

It’s complemented by its respective display stand, which is undoubtedly a great success to increase its charm when it’s displayed.
