Talking about contradictions... I remained enough time reluctant to explore the depths of comics, obsessed with the exotic world of anime.
However, my bizarre desire cannot be limited and takes bites of the two universes, to be satisfied.
In 1941, makes his debut the character that concern us today: Aquaman, thanks to the wit of Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger.
Although he was underestimated as superheroe, due to the apparent futility of his powers, in the Silver Age of comic (1950 - 1960) could be given a more relevant background to his story and origins, so Aquaman ceased to be a third category champion.
Arthur Curry, later known as Orin, is descended from the inhabitants of Atlantis and from this fact is derived his telepathic powers that allowing him to communicate with marine life, superhuman strength and endurance, he can stay under water indefinitely though only for short periods on the surface and when he swims reaches incredible speed.
In the limited series "Our Worlds in War", to defend his beloved city Poseidonis against the devastating attack of Imperiex, the greatest arch-enemy known until now in the entire DC universe, he must use this unique armor and the trident of Neptune... Although he fights with courage, he is defeated and dies with honor.
While I’m not a fan of Aquaman, DC Direct was able to put him on my radar, thanks to this singular collection figure. It’s another piece of the Armory series, 7" high, with 11 points of articulation and has an armor design with a look less "high tech" and more medieval.
Its cast gives the appearance of being more handcrafted than the other pieces of this set, but is an excellent contrast due to the quality of its detail and the fabulous paint job.
It’s complemented by its respective display stand, which is undoubtedly a great success to increase its charm when it’s displayed.

I really like this version of Aquaman in shiny golden medieval armour. This toy reminds me of Poseidon as I have recently watched Percy Jackson & the lighting thief & Clash of the Titan. Ha! Ha!
hehe... when i had my 1st encounter with this figure, i thought: "why this old fashioned armor is part of this set???"... i even thought into leave this figure aside, i guess i was trying to b coherent but then i said myself: "i’m not coherent at all, so why not giving an opportunity to this guy" & i don’t regret of that desicion... yes this armor is totally medieval look... it remainds me as well an epic warrior, & i think that was the intention of the creator/designer of this armor, cuz the battle against Imperiex is definitely epic =OOOO
... mmmm...

What's with the armor? He may sink more than swim...It look cool but kinda of old skool...
Nobody can NOT call him Seamen anymore(stupid joke),That Gold armor and trident beats the current JL aquaman suit anytime.
Your not a fan of aquaman, blashphemy!...Then again not everyone is usually, do you have a Jaws Shark figure cause it would be epic having it standing by his side
to LEon:
well, Aquaman is indeed a superheroe, so he wouldn’t hav any problem with the weight of this armor & as far as i know, he used it almost like a suit, so he could swim fast with or without it =PPPP... ohhh the armor... if he hadn’t used this armor, even as a superheroe, Imperiex hav been destroyed him in a trice... & this armor is totally old school, that is its charm =PPPPP
to Gunstray:
yep, this armor is fantastic & fits perfect with his mythologic background...
errrr correction pal, now i’m an ex-not-fan of Aquaman... in fact, i’m trying to get a new figure of this superheroe, OFC in the NON-traditional line that characterize me
a fellow collector of mine has a shark that came with his Fathom figure of Moore Action Collectibles, but i doubt he gifts me that... =(
