Siempre he pensado que una guerra es el peor escenario donde una diferencia, por la razón que sea, puede ser resuelta; estoy completamente consciente que la mayoría de historiadores, analistas políticos, sociólogos y similares, estarán en desacuerdo conmigo en ese sentido, ostentando los anales de la historia como una evidencia irrefutable... 

Buen punto, la historia ciertamente es un argumento sólido, pero donde la justicia y la integridad reinan, no hay necesidad del derramamiento de sangre, la destrucción y la ruina que conlleva la guerra... 

Sin embargo, es claro para mí que vivimos en un mundo retorcido, donde la gente está demasiado acostumbrada a mentir, robar, codiciar, despreciar, matar; una sociedad hambrienta de conocimiento, pero desprovista de moralidad y la guerra es una especie de "cirugía de amputación", que ayuda de alguna forma a traer los cambios que no podrían ser logrados de otra manera... 

Tan crudo como suena, ese parece ser el caso de Corea, una región con una historia "algo" convulsionada y dividida desde la II Guerra Mundial, cuando fue liberada del antiguo Imperio de Japón y ocupada por la Unión Soviética al norte (sin descuidar la influencia de China) y los Estados Unidos al sur. 

Esta división condujo pronto a la Guerra de Corea, entre las facciones norteña y sureña (o entre el comunismo y el capitalismo, si quieres); aunque la guerra cesó en 1953, las escaramuzas continuan hasta la fecha... 

La República de Corea t.c.c. Corea del Sur, no es el mismo país después de la Guerra de Corea, eso es seguro, pero la guerra fue solo parte de la explicación de su increíble surgimiento como una nación desarrollada, parte del G20. 

El cambio real comenzó después de dicha guerra y la política jugó un papel crucial en este así llamado "Milagro del Río Han", hubo algunas decisiones no-muy-populares que tomar, además el concurso del gobierno, el sector productivo y el pueblo, fue absolutamente necesario, con el fin de crear un país pujante, industrializado y exportador, de las cenizas de la guerra. 

Entre los sectores productivos desarrollados en Corea del Sur, la industria automotriz ciertamente ocupa una posición decisiva en la estrategia nacional para convertirse en una potencia mundial y estoy publicando un vehículo interesante, hecho por la multinacional fabricante de autos Hyundai Motors Company. 

El Coupé Deportivo Compacto Hyundai Tiburon GT V6 2+2 de 2002 - 2003, pertenece a la segunda generación del modelo (2002-2008) y representa una mejora sustancial con respecto a la generación anterior (1996-2001), con un coche que es más grande, más pesado y más potente. 

Lo que realmente hace la diferencia en este caso, no obstante, es el diseño de carrocería, que cambió las curvas redundantes y raras, tan características de los vehículos coreanos, por láminas metálicas pulcras, con bordes nítidos para un look más limpio e internacional. 

Algunos periodistas automovilísticos, clamaron que este diseño de carrocería tiene algunas reminiscencias de la silueta creada por Lorenzo Ramaciotti en Pininfarina, para el Ferrari 456 GT y guardadas proporciones, la comparación me parece apropiada. 

A pesar de la crítica implacable que este modelo levantó alrededor del mundo, principalmente por algunos problemas de calidad (sabes, algunas veces la gente con bajo presupuesto es más exigente que los miembros de la realeza y quieren la excelencia de un Lamborghini a cambio de menos de US$20.000, ¿tienes una mejor definición para gente descarada?), la segunda generación del Tiburon fue definitivamente un gran paso en la dirección correcta para Hyundai. 

Este modelo ofrece un gran potencial para la personalización y un tren de potencia más que decente con un motor de 164.7 pulgadas cúbicas, 2.7 L, V6 Delta a gasolina, enganchado a una transmisión manual de 6 velocidades, clasificado en 172 hp... 

¡Créeme, si tienes buen gusto y buen dinero, puedes tener un carro grandioso en tus manos!... 

Este es uno de esos modelos que podría pasar desapercibido fácilmente por parte de los fanáticos de Hot Wheels y coleccionistas por igual; supongo que no muchas personas lo considerarían irresistible y sus detractores pueden esgrimir muchas razones para eso, probablemente esas mismas razones son motivaciones para mí con el fin de conseguirlo. 

Hyundai no ha recibido mucho amor por parte de los fabricantes de diecast y apenas he visto modelos hechos por marcas conocidas como: IXO y Premium X en escala 1:43, Welly en escala 1:36, fabricantes de diecast coreanos producen diferentes autos de juguete y de impulso en escalas 1:32, 1:36 y 1:38, además productos OEM (Equipamiento Original del Fabricante, por sus siglas en inglés) (t.c.c. Accesorio Genuino) hecho para Hyundai en escala 1:38 ó 1:35 y Paudi en escala 1:18, mayormente. 

Los artículos en escalas más pequeñas son incluso más escasos, con ejemplos hechos por: Tomica en escala 1:67 y similares, Maisto en escala 1:87 y dos modelos hechos por Hot Wheels, el Genesis y el publicado aquí, un Tiburon, que de acuerdo con mis cálculos, es escala 1:62. 

Entonces, este es un modelo no-muy-popular y ese es precisamente un punto fuerte para mí, ya que quiero cubrir tanto de la industria automotriz mundial como pueda; también, este auto fue mercadeado en mi país y esa es otra buena razón para hacerle campo en mi colección. 

Hubo solo 4 iteraciones del Hyundai Tiburon en el portafolio de Hot Wheels, entre 2002 y 2007 luego, es un modelo algo raro; como muchos otros modelos de HW que poseo, no hay indicio sobre el diseñador involucrado en el desarrollo de este molde y de nuevo, es una pérdida, porque es un artículo agradablemente detallado y proporcionado. 

El modelo reseñado esta vez, pertenece a la Serie First Editions, parte de la Línea Principal; tiene carrocería en diecast y chasis en plástico negro, extrañamente, tiene un estilo de coche de carreras y eso es bastante inusual ya que, hasta donde sé, la participación de Hyundai en los deportes a motor, más precisamente en las Carreras Rally, fue más tarde en 2007 (!?); puedes notar las partes personalizadas encima del techo, con una entrada de aire extra, extradas de aire adicionales en el capó y el bómper frontal y las ventanas fijas de las puertas, con una ventanilla deslizante más pequeña. 

El trabajo de pintura fue hecho en negro brillante y la decoración es bastante sorpresiva, combinando llamas en naranja y amarillo fluorescente, con logos de patrocinadores como: Shoei, RF, Alpine Star, Cornwell, BBS, Hyundai Racing, #25 SCCA ProRally, en blanco y azul policromado, también tres grandes logos de Hot Wheels sobre el capó y los paneles laterales, en blanco y azul policromado, la cual fue creada aparentemente por Troy Lee Designs. 

Presenta interiores detallados en blanco, ventanas tintadas en naranja, ruedas plásticas con diseño de rimes cromados 10 Spoke y fue hecho en Malasia...

I have always thought that a war is the worst scenario where a difference, for whatever reason, can be solved; I’m fully aware that most historians, political analysts, sociologists and the like, will disagree with me in that sense, flaunting the annals of history as an indisputable evidence... 

Good point, history certainly is a sound argument, but where the justice and the integrity reign, there is no need of the bloodshed, destruction and ruin, that entails the war... 

However, is clear to me that we live in a twisted world, where people are too used to lie, steal, covet, despise, kill; a society hungry for knowledge, but devoid of morality and the war is a sort of "amputation surgery", which helps somehow to bring the changes that could not be achieved otherwise... 

As crude as it sounds, it seems to be the case of Korea, a region with a "kinda" convulsed history and divided since the World War II, when it was freed of the former Empire of Japan and occupied by the Soviet Union to the north (without neglecting the influence of China) and the United States to the south. 

This division led soon to the Korean War, between the northern and southern factions (or between the communism and the capitalism, if you will); albeit the war ceased in 1953, the skirmishes continue to date... 

The Republic of Korea a.k.a South Korea, is not the same country after the Korean War, that’s for sure, but the war was only part of the explanation of its incredible emergence as a developed nation, part of the G20. 

The real change began after such war and politics played a crucial role in this so called "Miracle of the Han River", there were some not-so-popular decisions to be made, also the assistance of the government, the productive sector and the people, was absolutely necessary, in order to create a thriving, industrialized and exporter country, from the ashes of war. 

Among the production sectors developed in South Korea, the automotive industry certainly occupies a decisive position in the national strategy to become a world power and I’m publishing an interesting vehicle, made by the multinational car manufacturer Hyundai Motors Company. 

The 2002 - 2003 Hyundai Tiburon GT V6 2+2 Compact Sport Coupe, belongs to the second generation of the model (2002-2008) and represents a substantial improvement regarding the previous generation (1996-2001), with a car that is larger, heavier and more powerful. 

What really makes the difference in this case, nonetheless, is the body design, that changed the redundant and odd use of curves, so characteristic in the Korean vehicles, by neat metal sheets, with sharp edges for a clean and more international look. 

Some automotive journalists, claimed that this body design has some reminiscences of the shape created by Lorenzo Ramaciotti at Pininfarina, for the Ferrari 456 GT and proportions saved, the comparison seems to me appropriate. 

Despite the remorseless criticism that this model aroused around the world, mainly because of some quality issues (you know, sometimes people on a budget is more demanding than royals and they want the excellence of a Lamborghini in exchange for less than US$20,000, do you have a better definition for cheeky people?), the second generation Tiburon was definitely a big step in the right direction for Hyundai. 

This model offers a great potential for customizations and a more than decent powertrain with a 164.7 cu in, 2.7 L, V6 Delta petrol engine, hooked to a 6-speed manual transmission, rated at 172 hp... 

Believe me, if you have good taste and good money, you could have a great ride in your hands!... 

This is one of those models that could go unnoticed easily by fanatics of Hot Wheels and collectors equally; I guess not many people would consider it compelling and its detractors can wield many reasons for that, probably those very reasons are motivations for me in order to get it. 

Hyundai has not received much love by the diecast makers and I barely have seen models made by known brands like: IXO and Premium X in scale 1:43, Welly in scale 1:36, korean diecast manufacturers produce different pull-back action and toy cars in 1:32, 1:36 and 1:38 scales, also OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) products (a.k.a. Genuine Accessory) made for Hyundai in scale 1:38 or 1:35 scales and Paudi in scale 1:18, mainly. 

The items in smaller scales are even scarcer, with examples made by: Tomica in 1:67 and similar scales, Maisto in 1:87 scale and two models made by Hot Wheels, the Genesis and the one published here, a Tiburon, which according to my calculations is 1:62 scale. 

Then, this is a not-so-popular model and that’s precisely a strong point for me, since I want to cover as much of the global automotive industry as I can; also, this car was marketed in my country and that’s another good reason to make room for it in my collection. 

There were only 4 iterations of the Hyundai Tiburon in the Hot Wheels portfolio, between 2002 and 2007 so, it’s a kinda rare model; as many other models by HW that I own, there is no hint about the designer involved in the development of this cast and again, it’s a waste, because is a nicely detailed and proportioned item. 

The model reviewed this time, belongs to the First Editions Series, part of the Mainline; it has diecast body and black plastic chassis, oddly, it has a racing car style and that’s pretty unusual since, as far as I know, the involvement of Hyundai in motorsports, with this model, more precisely in Rally Racing, was later in 2007 (!?); you can notice the custom parts on top of the roof, with an extra air inlet, the additional air inlets on the hood and the front bumper and the special fixed windows for the doors, with a smaller sliding window. 

The paint job was made in glossy black and the decoration is quite surprising, combining flames in fluorescent orange and yellow, with sponsors logos like: Shoei, RF, Alpine Star, Cornwell, BBS, Hyundai Racing, #25 SCCA ProRally, in white and blue polychrome, also three big Hot Wheels logos on the hood and side panels, in white and polychrome blue, which seemingly was created by Troy Lee Designs. 

It features detailed white interiors, orange tinted windows, plastic wheels with 10 Spoke chrome rims design and it was made in Malaysia...
