A pesar de que las pickups crearon un nuevo segmento / tipo de vehículos en la segunda decada del siglo 20, lo que significa que tienen mucha historia "a cuestas", son bastante subestimadas y muchas personas sólo ven su utilidad para la carga.
Sin mencionar su estética que es simplemente considerada como fealdad...
Yo creo que hay ignorancia en esa apreciación o para ser cortés, la falta de una mente abierta en cuestiones de estilo.
De hecho, hay algunos ejemplos de pickups con mucho encanto, como la que estoy publicando.
La Ford Pickup de 1940 cuyo diseño toma varios elementos del auto correspondiente, logra una apariencia con mucha clase usualmente acompañada por un esquema de color de dos tonos y llantas banda blanca, aunque su interior es muy "espartano", si saben a lo que me refiero...
Además, los motores originales usados para estos vehículos de 1/2 tonelada no son el epítome de la potencia pura y dura, con el viejo V8 cabeza plana adentro y apenas 60-85 hp... Pero podían mover 1/2 tonelada, ¡CARAJO!
Hot Wheels está incrementando su cuota de pickups aquí (y estoy planeando hacer lo mismo con Johnny Lightning =OOOOO) con un modelo que exuda carácter y potencia, diseñado por Phil Riehlman.
Si, leyeron bien, potencia, porque esta es una versión dragster e imagino que notaron el enorme colector de aire en el capó, el deflector y la "cosa" en la parte inferior trasera, cuyo nombre técnico es weelie bar, que ayuda a prevenir que la parte delantera de un vehículo tipo drag se levante demasiado o dé la vuelta hacia atrás durante el arranque...
Deseo que el DIOS de la Biblia los bendiga y espero traer algo nuevo la próxima semana... =)

Yeah, you read right, power, because this is a dragster version and I guess you noticed the enormous scoop above the hood, the spoiler and the "thing" in the lower rear whose technical name is wheelie bar, which help prevent a drag vehicle's front end from raising too high or flipping over on launch...

Sorry, this time I must confess that I belong to the majority who lack the appreciation to the design of this vehicle. I supposed this is a pick-up but it can't seem to carry any goods on the rear. As for the bonnet, it's designed like a vintage car but still represent itself like a pick-up truck as a whole. The decals on the side is pretty cool however the toy lacks details. Pardon me for my comment.
HAHAHA... no problem pal... the least i can expect from my commentators is honesty, because i’m honest with my comments... anyway you could try the link in the name of this model to watch the actual pickup and you can verify that is beautiful... this is a highly modified pickup, a dragster and it has enormous rear tires, so the cargo space has been reduced considerably... the casting in this model is not one of the best by Hot Wheels for sure, but the paint job and decor save the day, so i decided to give it a chance and i like it... =)
nooooo! I love pickups! especially Ford's.. well you know already that I am a fan of 4x4s but the first time I saw this guy here, the first thing came to my mind is, I want to custom it! hahaha you know, with blazing flames on sides (should there be an evil laugh here?LOL)
and you mention JL! ooh my, JL's pickups utterly beautiful with it's well detailed castings but of course, price is higher than of HW - well you get what you paid for. But I must say, go go go! for JL hahaha
HAHAHA... the more you want, the more you get... the old pickups made their work pretty fine, not without class i must say... i love 4x4, pickups, jeeps and trucks as well, so i will release the beast within LOL... this model has a lot of potential for customization and i wish the cast were more detailed, but i liked... and about JL trucks/pickups... they’re indeed more expensive than other models by JL, but when you want something you do what you have to do... =OOOOO

I would prefer the road version of this classic pick up rather than this dragster version... no offense though... its just a matter of personal taste... i m glad u like this... good for u...
HEHEHE... if you ask me, even me myself would prefer the "street" version of this awesome classic, but it’s not available in this scale by Hot Wheels, at least as far as i know... another option would be Johnny Lightning, but usually the pickups are more expensive =(... anyway this is not bad at all and you could even consider a customization to make it look more like the normal/road/street version, don’t you think so ??? =)
