A lo largo de nueve años (desde 1964 hasta 1973) el mundo entero supo qué pensaban los Estados Unidos, acerca de cómo deberían ser los autos de alto desempeño. 

¡Muy poco tiempo sí me lo preguntan!... 

Yo sé que después de 1973 algunos mal llamados "Muscle Cars" fueron producidos por los principales fabricantes norteamericanos de automóviles; sin embargo, estos estaban muy lejos del rendimiento de los pura sangre (tenían una decoración muy deportiva, pero supongo que ya saben que una etiqueta de Muscle Car, no es sólo acerca de cómo luces, sino de cómo dejas millas detrás)... 

A pesar de la brevedad, el "portafolio" de este segmento del mercado estaba lleno de modelos fabulosos con una larga lista de accesorios, opciones y dos tallas para escoger: mediana y grande. 

Ya es tiempo de echarle un vistazo a otro monstruo de talla mediana... 

El Coupé Techo Duro Chevrolet Chevelle SS de 1968 es uno de los modelos más exitosos en el catálogo Chevy, producido desde 1964 hasta 1977, lo suficiente para dejar una marca distintiva en la mente de los entusiastas de los autos. 

Para la segunda generación, el Chevelle creció en tamaño y recibió un diseño con más hormonas, lo que es especialmente notorio en la parte media redondeada y el estilo semi-fastback. 

La parrilla frontal luce más agresiva, mientras que la parte trasera es más sutil y limpia en mi opinión, también los bómperes son más integrados a la carrocería. 

El efecto general es un balance entre lo elegante y lo salvaje, ¡simplemente increíble!... 

El departamento de motores tenía nueve opciones para escoger, desde uno de 230 pulgadas cúbicas, 3.8 L, Chevrolet I6, hasta uno robusto de 454 pulgadas cúbicas, 7.4 L, V8 de bloque grande, ¡clasificado probablemente en alrededor de 400 hp!. 

Bienvenidos nuevamente a mis regalos de cumpleaños del 2011 (estoy tratando de estar al día con el "departamento-diecast" de mi colección, pero supongo que mi ritmo es un poco lento y no tengo mucha prisa en todo caso)... 

GreenLight tiene una puntuación muy alta en mi lista de marcas favoritas de diecast, a pesar de su precio final, lo que está completamente justificado por los detalles logrados, la calidad y los extras incluidos. 

Este modelo, que pertenece a la línea Muscle Car Garage Stock & Custom es un custom (eso creo...), con un elegante trabajo de pintura en plateado, una fina decoración de llamas blancas y tampos excelentes, extremadamente precisos. 

Carrocería / chasis en diecast, rimes realistas con diseño Cragar en cromado, con acentos plateados, apertura de capó con motor e interiores detallados, también hay una tarjeta coleccionable grande con una ilustración del auto real al frente y la lista de los seis coches disponibles en la serie atrás...

Along nine years (from 1964 to 1973) the entire world knew what the United States thought, about how the high performance cars should be. 

Very little time if you ask me!... 

I know that after 1973 some so called "Muscle Cars", were produced by the main American car manufacturers; however, these were far from the performance of the thoroughbreds (these had a very sporty decor, but I guess you already know that a Muscle Car tag, is not only about how you look, but about how you leave the miles behind)... 

Despite the brevity, the "portfolio" of this segment of the market was plenty of fabulous models, with a long list of accessories, options and two sizes to choose: medium and big. 

It’s about time to check out another medium size monster... 

The 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Hardtop Coupe is one of the most successful models in the Chevy’s catalog, produced from 1964 to 1977, long enough to leave a distinctive mark in the mind of the car enthusiasts. 

For the second generation, the Chevelle grew in size and received a design with more hormones, which is specially noticeable in the rounded belt line and the semi-fastback style. 

The front grille looks more aggressive, while the back is quite more subtle and neat in my opinion, also the fenders are more integrated to the body. 

The overall effect is a balance between elegance and wildness, just great!... 

The engine department had nine options to choose, from a 230 cu in, 3.8 L, Chevrolet I6, to a robust 454 cu in, 7.4 L, big-block V8 engine rated probably around 400 hp!. 

Welcome back to my 2011 birthday’s gifts (I’m still trying to be up-to-date with the "diecast-department" of my collection, but I guess my pace is a bit slow and I have not a big hurry anyway)... 

GreenLight has a very high rating in my list of favorite diecast brands, despite its final price, which is fully justified by the details achieved, the quality and the extras included. 

This model, that belongs to the Muscle Car Garage Stock & Custom is a custom (I think so...), with a sleek paint job in silver, a fine white flames decor and dandy tampos, extremely accurate. 

Diecast body / chassis, realistic wheels with Cragar design in chrome, with silver accents, opening hood with detailed engine and interiors, also there is a big trading card included, with an illustration of the actual car in front and the list of the six models available in the series behind...
