Es decir, ¿por qué dos marcas con tan pocas diferencias coexistirían en el segmento de lujo superior?...
Esto es al menos tan extravagante como las personas que pueden costear semejantes exquisiteces...
¡Para mí es un poquitín "arbitrario" escoger entre yo y yo mismo, cuando yo ya soy grandioso!... ¡HA!...
Está bien, suficiente egolatría por hoy, sólo estoy tratando de establecer mi punto de vista...
Cuándo necesitas una camioneta pickup, ¿por qué deberías escoger entre una GMC y una Chevy?...
Uhmmmm, yendo directo al grano, estas son ambas vehículos estupendos que pueden cargar 1/2 tonelada con propiedad, pero son prácticamente idénticas...
Aunque la escogencia es todavía arbitraria, porque el modelo base es el mismo, las principales diferencias son, el nivel de equipamiento y el precio.
Hoy les estoy presentando una Camioneta GMC Pickup (Stepside) de 1957, que es básicamente una Camioneta Chevy Pickup más lujosa.
Estos modelos comparten el mismo diseño, que me recuerda una gárgola, redondeada y sin embargo tan seria, pesada, feroz e imponente, justo como un camión debería lucir.
El surtido de motores era algo magro con apenas uno de 235 pulgadas cúbicas, 3.9 L, I6, uno de 265 pulgadas cúbicas, 4.3 L, V8 y uno de 283 pulgadas cúbicas, 4.6 L, V8...
Obviamente el alto desempeño no estaba incluido en la lista de "cosas por hacer" para GMC, pero estas lucen extraordinarias y hay, de todas maneras, suficiente espacio para un motor más decente.
Matchbox estuvo esperando una oportunidad para complacerme, con un ejemplo de su trabajo.
Conseguí este modelo de otro colega mío que le gusta coleccionar principalmente vehículos que estuvieron disponibles en nuestro mercado local, especialmente autos de Renault, que es actualmente una marca con fuerte presencia en nuestro país.
Como es usual, el molde está bellamente detallado y proporcionado, el trabajo de pintura en negro brillante es limpio y mejora el ya audaz diseño de esta camioneta... Si solo a las luces se les diera un toque de realismo con unos buenos tampos, ¡sería genial! *suspiro*...
Los interiores en color beige le brindan un agradable contraste, hay una textura sutil de madera en el platón y el chasis plástico cromado ayuda bastante a su pinta clásica.
Por el bien de los viejos buenos tiempos, incluí un par de fotografías en grupo con otras pickups clásicas en mi colección...

Uhmmmm, going straight to the point, these are both great vehicles which can carry 1/2 ton properly, but they are virtually identical...
Although the choosing is still arbitrary, because the base model is the same, the main differences are, the trim levels and the price.
Today I’m introducing a 1957 GMC Pickup Truck (Stepside), that is basically a Chevy Pickup Truck more luxurious.
These models share the same body design which reminds me a gargoyle, rounded and yet so serious, heavy, fierce and imposing, just like a truck should look.
The assortment of engines was a tad lean with barely a 235 cu in, 3.9 L, I6, a 265 cu in, 4.3 L, V8 and a 283 cu in, 4.6 L, V8...
Obviously the high performance was not included in the list of "things to do" for GMC, but these look awesome and there is enough room for a more decent engine anyway.
Matchbox was waiting for another chance to please me, with a sample of its work.
I got this model from another colleague of mine who likes to collect mainly vehicles that were available in our local market, specially cars by Renault, that is currently a brand with a strong presence in our country.
As usual, the casting is beautifully detailed and proportionate, the paint job in glossy black is neat and improves the already bold design of this truck... If only the lights were given a touch of realism with good tampos, it would be great! *sigh*...
The interiors in beige color provide a nice contrast, there is a subtle wood texture in the truck bed and the plastic chrome chassis helps a lot to the classic look.
For the sake of the old good times, I included a pair of pictures in group with other classic pickups in my collection...

Then I thought pick-up is manned to be a cheap form of transport usually company registered in asia. Not so perceived as luxurious. Nice gloss but hey, Matchbox can put in more effect on those plastic parts.
This is very suitable for a corn farmers like me... i love this kind of simple but practical truck but then again if I have to choose between the 3, I think u know which one I will choose hehehehehe...

you could not believe how luxurious can be a pickup truck !!!... at least in America, they are very appreciated not only for their utility, the pickup models have had several trim levels almost from the beginning of their production... also these are big favorites for the customizers, probably because they have a lot of metal sheet to shape their creations and they have plenty of room for great engines as well !!!...
on the other hand, i agree with you pal, a bit more of detail here and there, would improve a lot the overall appearance of this diecast, but i think that for a regular line model, the outcome is very satisfying... =)

Yup - your guess is 100 percent correct - I just love red and for that I'm pretty predictable.
We corn farmers doesn't have weekly or monthly wages like office workers, if the production is good, we make decent money, if the weather is bad and so many birds and other animal disturb your farm then you end up with no money... but so far so good for us, thus I can still buy a bit of cheap toys for my collections here and there. I would be more grateful if I can afford a real Ferrari hahahaha... I will be really really grateful LOL LOL LOL

parse, nop, ahi sí se equivocó... esta camioneta fue la primera que uso Batman (cuando era un gomeche de vereda, después que lo asustó un chimbilá y decidió meterse a vender lichigo al frente de la Plaza de las Flores, ahorró como cualquier boyaco, debajo del colchón mijo... y se consiguió este severendo fierro, pa’ dejar de echar quimba y darle pata a las ratas que nunca faltan en las inmediaciones del Cayetano (detrasito, en el Amparo, donde trasquilan con rula...) HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...
