Ya saben... Los autos que dejan una impronta en tu memoria o los más famosos a través del tiempo, no son siempre los deportivos o los de lujo superior (¡eso es tan cliché y tan aburrido! =PPPPP)... 

Muchas veces son esos autos cotidianos, producidos en masa, no tan exóticos y aún problemáticos, los que ganan el corazón de la mayoría de los seres humanos... 

¿Por qué?... 

¡Afrontémoslo!... ¿Cuántas personas pueden costear un Bentley o un Lamborghini o un Muscle Car listo para concurso?... 

Y la respuesta ganadora es: ¡la gente asquerosamente rica!... 

Y ¿cuántos de nosotros pertenecemos a ese grupo selecto y egoísta?... 

... 

... 

Bueno, ahora que mi punto fue aclarado, podemos echarle un ojo al "amigo" que traje a esta fiesta. 

¿Necesita el mítico Mini una presentación?... Probablemente no, pero un poco de historia no te hará daño... 

El auto más icónico de la industria automotriz británica (y no, no es el Rolls Royce =PPPPP) fue producido por primera vez en 1959 por BMC (British Motor Company). 

Sir Alec Issigonis fue su diseñador y creó la apariencia de "bulldog" que le da un reconocimiento instantáneo en todos lados (y el segundo lugar como el auto más influyente del siglo XX, detrás del Ford Modelo T). 

Este vehículo ultra-compacto, hatchback 2 puertas (también disponible como sedán, van, pickup y station wagon), maximizó increíblemente bien el espacio de pasajeros (¡casi 80% del espacio utilizable!), con su configuración de motor montado transversalmente, tracción delantera y ruedas a los extremos. 

La sensación de manejo de este auto fue más o menos la de los go-karts, precisa y nerviosa; dicha característica, junto con el "todo-un-sistema-eléctrico" fueron las marcas registradas del Mini. 

El Mini Cooper S de 1968 es una versión de alto desempeño del "pacífico" Mini, creado por John Cooper y Alec Issigonis. 

Fue equipado con un motor de 1.275 cc (77,8 pulgadas cúbicas), 4 cilindros, clasificado en 76-78 hp (¡qué lindo! HAHAHA), pero el peso bruto de apenas 1.016 kg y otras mejoras, ¡lo hicieron una ráfaga con una velocidad máxima de 157 km/h!... 

Para su Aniversario 35, Hot Wheels decidió celebrar con una serie especial de diecast empacada en tarjeta de colección (clamshell) llamada Hall of Fame (Salón de la Fama), parte de sus líneas Adultas, hecha exclusivamente para Target, con 3 subseries y una de ellas es: Greatest Rides; este modelo particular fue diseñado por Phil Riehlman. 

Obviamente hay algo más que un lindo empaque para conmover tu sensibilidad. 

El modelo mismo tiene carrocería / chasis en diecast (el respectivo modelo de la línea Regular tiene sólo chasis en diecast), el nivel de detalle en el molde es realmente superior para los estándares de HW y el trabajo de pintura / tampos ayuda a mejorar bastante el realismo. 

La pintura verde policromada, junto con la bandera de Gran Bretaña sobre el techo funcionan perfectamente y aún las ruedas Real Riders con Chrome Hub y líneas rojas (que son usuales en los modelos Hot Rod y Muscle Car) lucen fantásticos. 

Como un coche de carreras, tiene una jaula interna para proteger al piloto en color beige, que hace un agradable contraste con los interiores en negro, hay una linda toma de aire en el capó en dos colores también y el timón está a la derecha (bastante correcto para un auto británico).  

Encima de eso, hay una tarjeta de colección con la fotografía del auto real y una breve descripción de su historia...

You know... The cars that leave a print in your memory or the most famous through time, are not always the sports or top luxury cars (that’s so cliche and boring! =PPPPP)... 

Many times are those everyday cars, mass-produced, not so exotic and even problematic, the ones that win the heart of most of the human beings... 

Why?... 

Let’s face it!... How many people can afford a Bentley or a Lamborghini or a concours-ready Muscle Car?... 

And the winner answer is: the sickeningly rich people!... 

And how many of us belong to that select and selfish group?...

Well, now that my point was clarified, we can take a look at the "friend" I brought to this party. 

Does the mythical Mini need an introduction?... Probably no, but a bit of history will not hurt you... 

The most iconic vehicle of the British car industry (and no, is not the Rolls Royce =PPPPP) was produced for the first time in 1959 by BMC (British Motor Company). 

Sir Alec Issigonis was its designer and created the "bulldog" appearance that gave it an instant recognition everywhere (and the second place as the most influential vehicle of the 20th century, behind the Ford Model T). 

This ultra-compact, 2-door hatchback (also available as sedan, van, pickup and station wagon) vehicle, maximized incredibly good the passengers space (almost 80% of the space available !!!), with its front engine transversely mounted, front-wheel drive and cornered wheels configuration. 

The driving feeling of this car was pretty much that of the go-karts, precise and nervous; such feature, along with the "hell-of-a-electric-system" were the trademarks in the Mini. 

The 1968 Mini Cooper S is a high performance version of the "pacific" Mini, created by John Cooper and Alec Issigonis. It was equipped with a 1,275 cc (77.8 cu in), 4-cylinder engine rated at 76-78 hp (how cute! LOLOLOL), but the gross weight of barely 1,016 kg and other improvements, made it a burst with a top speed of 157 km/h!... 

For its 35th Anniversary, Hot Wheels decided to celebrate with a special series of diecast packed in collector card (clamshell) called Hall of Fame, part of its Adult lines, made exclusively for Target, with 3 sub-series and one of them is: Greatest Rides; this particular model was designed by Phil Riehlman. 

Obviously there is more than a nice packaging to move your sensitivity. 

The model itself has body / chassis in diecast (the respective Regular line model has only chassis in diecast), the level of detail in the casting is really superior for the HW standards and the paint job / tampos help to improve quite a bit the realism. 

The green polychrome paintwork along with the great British flag on the roof work perfectly and even the Real Riders tires with Chrome Hub and red lines (which are usual in the Hot Rod and Muscle Car models) look fantastic. 

As a racing car, it has an inner cage to protect the pilot in color beige, which make a nice contrast with the black interiors, there is a nice hood air intake in two colors as well and the steering wheel is at right (pretty right for a British car). 

On top of that, there is a trading card with a picture of the actual model and a brief description of its history...
