1959 Ford F-250 Styleside 3/4 Ton Full Size Pickup Truck Issue No. 91 1998 Stock Rods Series -50th Anniversary NASCAR- Limited Edition 1 of 19,998 Scale 1:64 by Racing Champions

No hace mucho, un apreciado amigo mío y colega coleccionista de Singapur, estaba sorprendido por el hecho de que, en este lado del mundo, las camionetas pickup podían ser consideradas vehículos lujosos... 

Él dijo que en los países asiáticos, las camionetas pickup eran usadas principalmente como un medio de transporte barato, compradas en flotillas por compañías registradas en Asia. 

En realidad, estas son básicamente vehículos utilitarios así que, tiene mucho sentido usarlas como medio de transporte, especialmente cuando las condiciones geográficas / viales son desafiantes, como parece ser el caso en algunos países del gigante asiático. 

Además, parece que la comodidad y elegancia no son prioritarias en esos mercados, sino ir del punto A al punto B, de la manera menos tortuosa posible... ¡Bastante justo!... 

El mercado norteamericano tiene sus propias particularidades, una de ellas es precisamente la facilidad para conseguir / comprar un coche. 

No es solo que hay una amplia gama de vehículos (este mercado es uno de los más importantes alrededor del mundo), ¡sino el hecho de que tu puedes conseguir un carro decente y funcionando por tan poco como US$2.500!... 

Digamos que en mi país, por esa misma suma de dinero, solo puedes conseguir una motocicleta citadina regular =/////... 

Estoy bastante seguro que por esas mismas razones, el mercado norteamericano es el "ambiente" adecuado para las camionetas pickup de alta gama. 

De hecho, los principales fabricantes de autos norteamericanos tienen un surtido de niveles de equipamiento bastante apropiado y puedes ordenar, desde fábrica, una camioneta pickup repleta de comodidades y equipo extra, si estás dispuesto a pagar la suma correcta de dinero. 

Ford Motors Company, por ejemplo, tiene la Serie-F (designación para las camionetas pickup de tamaño completo) y tan lejos como en 1948, creó vehículos para este segmento que hoy en día son considerados muestras de practicidad, estilo e incluso elegancia. 

La Camioneta Pickup de Tamaño Completo 3/4 de Tonelada Ford F-250 Styleside de 1959, es un utilitario que pertenece a la tercera generation de la Serie-F (1957-1960), con un tamaño más grande que la regular (F-150) puede cargar 3/4 de tonelada, sin dudarlo. 

Pero hay más involucrado que asuntos utilitarios en esta pickup, hubo un cambio extremo en el diseño de la carrocería para crear algo más moderno, con una presentación que funciona bien en tu granja, pero también luce mejor en la ciudad, ofreciendo la opción de un esquema de pintura de dos colores, una buena dosis de cromo (¡ya saben que cromo significa siempre lujo!) y un apropiado motor de 292 CID, 4.8 L, bloque en Y, V8. 

Mientras mi viaje por la enorme tierra de los coleccionables y muy dentro del país de los vehículos diecast transcurre, estoy encontrando más y más marcas interesantes, con ciertos productos por encima de mis expectativas. 

Esta esmerada muestra fue hecha por Racing Champions, una marca norteamericana de Glen Ellyn, Illinois, que ahora es propiedad del conglomerado RC2 Corporation (Learning Curve Brands) -el ex-dueño de Johnny Lightning, antes que fuera adquirida por Takara Tomy-... 

¡Este mundo es un pañuelo!... 

Racing Champions es una marca especializada en vehículos de NASCAR y NHRA principalmente, pero tiene varias líneas con diferentes temáticas también. 

Esta es una edición limitada celebrando el Aniversario 50 de la NASCAR, viene en una tarjeta grande y gruesa, impresa a todo color (como un coleccionable para adultos real). 

La idea con esta línea, fue relacionar el nombre de un piloto famoso de NASCAR y los gráficos de su equipo del presente, con un Hot Rod favorito personalizado del pasado. 

Esta preciosa camioneta pickup 4x4, por ejemplo, fue relacionada con Bill Elliot y los gráficos de su equipo McDonald’s #94, el resultado es simplemente maravilloso. 

El molde es pulcro y lleno de detalles, trabajo de pintura / tampografía estupendos, carrocería y chasis en diecast, llantas en caucho (estilo 4x4) impresas con el logo de Goodyear Eagle y rimes realistas cromados, apertura de capó con motor detallado, apertura de la portezuela trasera de la camioneta y siendo una edición limitada, está numerada individualmente (debajo del chasis). 

Como un delicioso extra, incluye una grandiosa mini base transparente de exhibición y una tarjeta de colección que puede ser insertada en la base... 

¡Me enamoré de esta camioneta pickup!...

Not so long ago, an appreciated friend of mine and fellow collector from Singapore, was amazed by the fact that, in this side of the world, the pickup trucks could be considered luxurious vehicles... 

He said that in the asian countries, the pickup trucks were used mainly as a cheap mean of transportation, purchased in fleets by companies registered in Asia. 

Actually, these are basically utilitarian vehicles so, it makes a lot of sense to use them as a conveyance, specially when the geographical and/or road conditions are challenging, as seems to be the case in some countries of the asian giant. 

Also, it looks like the comfort and elegance are not priority in those markets, but to go from point A to point B, in the way less tortuous possible... Fair enough!... 

The american market has its own particularities, one of them is precisely the ease of getting/buying a car. 

Is not only that there is a wide range of vehicles (this market is one of the most important around the world), but the fact that you can get a decent and operating car for as little as US$2,500!... 

Let’s say that in my country, for that very sum of money, you can only get a regular city motorbike =/////... 

I’m pretty sure that for those very reasons, the american market is the suitable "environment" for the high-end pickup trucks. 

In fact, the main american car manufacturers have an assortment of trim levels quite appropriate and you can order, from factory, a pickup truck full of amenities and extra equipment, if you’re willing to pay the right amount of money. 

Ford Motors Company, for instance, has the F-Series (designation for the full-size pickup trucks) and as far as in 1948, created vehicles for this segment that nowadays are considered samples of practicality, style and even elegance. 

The 1959 Ford F-250 Styleside 3/4 Ton Full Size Pickup Truck, is an utilitarian which belongs to the third generation of the F-Series (1957-1960), with a bigger size than the regular one (F-150) it can carry 3/4 ton, without hesitation. 

But there is more involved than the utilitarian matters in this pickup, there was an extreme change in the body design to create something more modern, with an appearance that works fine in your farm, but also looks better in the city, offering the option of a two colors paint scheme, a good dose of chrome (you already know that chrome always means luxury!) and an appropiate 292 CID, 4.8 L, Y-block, V8 engine. 

While my journey by the huge land of collectibles and deep inside the country of the diecast vehicles elapses, I’m finding more and more interesting brands, with certain products above my expectations. 

This painstaking sample was made by Racing Champions, an american brand from Glen Ellyn, Illinois, that now is property of the conglomerate RC2 Corporation (Learning Curve Brands) -the former owner of Johnny Lightning, before it was acquired by Takara Tomy-... 

This world is a handkerchief!... 

Racing Champions is a brand specialized in vehicles from NASCAR and NHRA mainly, but it has several lines with different themes as well. 

This one is a limited edition celebrating the 50th Anniversary of NASCAR, it comes in a big and thick card, printed in full color (like a real adult collectible). 

The idea with this line, was to relate the name of a NASCAR’s famous driver and his team’s graphics of the present, with a favorite Hot Rod customized from the past. 

This precious 4x4 pickup truck, for instance, was related with Bill Elliot and his #94 McDonald’s team graphics, the outcome is just marvelous. 

The mold is neat and plenty of details, stupendous paint / pad printing jobs, diecast body and chassis, rubber tires (4x4 style) printed with the Goodyear Eagle logo and realistic chrome wheels, opening hood with detailed engine, opening tailgate and being a limited edition, it’s individually numbered (below the chassis). 

As a delicious bonus, it includes a great transparent mini display base and a trading card which can be inserted in the base... 

I fell in love with this pickup truck!...
