2011 Lamborghini Sesto Elemento (Sixth Element) - 2-Door Fastback Coupe / Berlinetta Track Only Super Car / Hyper Car 2015 HW Workshop - Night Burnerz Series 198/250 Diecast Scale 1:66 by Hot Wheels

Con la llegada del siglo XXI, un concepto relativamente novedoso fue introducido al mercado del lujo y desempeño extravagante representado por los Super / Hyper Autos Deportivos: uno que en realidad más que un coche, ofrece una experiencia... 

Este concepto es: un Super / Hyper Auto Solo Para Pista, lo cual no necesita mucha explicación en cuanto a su objetivo, pero involucra cambios importantes en la forma en que "posees" y usas un carro como ese, porque obviamente estamos hablando de un producto que no es legal para la calle... 

Ahora, autos especificamente hechos para las pistas han sido desarrollados prácticamente desde que existen estos circuitos de carreras, a saber, hace más de un siglo, mucho antes que las organizaciones regulatorias de los deportes a motor fueran creadas y se convirtieran en grandes máquinas de hacer dinero. 

No obstante, Super / Hyper Autos Solo Para Pista son un concepto mucho más "fresco", porque los Super / Hyper Autos, en el entendimiento contemporáneo de este término, son más bien recientes; algunas personas podrían decir que la era de esta clase de vehículos comenzó con el Mercedes 300SL de 1954, pero el McLaren F1 de 1994 es un ejemplo más apropiado de esta categoría. 

Mi invitado para esta publicación es un representante del concepto novedoso ya mencionado: el Lamborghini Sesto Elemento (Sexto Elemento) de 2011, un Coupé 2 Puertas Fastback / Berlinetta Super Auto / Hyper Auto Solo Para Pista, que se une a un selecto grupo de bestias no permitidas en las calles. 

En ese grupo puedes incluir coches salvajes como: Ferrari FXX Evoluzione, Aston Martin Vulcan AMR Pro, Pagani Zonda R, Ferrari LaFerrari FXX K, McLaren P1 GTR, Lotus T-125, Porsche 918 RSR, Maserati MC12 Corse, Ferrari 599XX, Pinifarina EF7 o Brabham BT62. 

Ninguno de ellos, sin embargo, podría ser confundido con un Super / Hyper Auto para la calle, porque estas bestias con alerones han sido modificadas extensivamente con kits de carrocería especiales, motores mejorados y las diferencias con carros de carreras reales son mínimas. 

El Sesto Elemento, por otro lado, podría pasar como auto de calle con un diseño pulcro, sobrio (comparado con sus pares listados previamente) y cincelado, caracterizado por el gris ligeramente metalizado de la fibra de carbono y algunos acentos estratégicos en rojo; pero debido a algunas regulaciones de seguridad y más que nada, con el fin de evitar cualquier "canibalización" con el Aventador, Lamborghini decidió crear solo 20 iteraciones del Sesto Elemento y solo para las pistas... 

Es irónico que un coche como este, con una etiqueta de precio apenas al sur de los US$3’000.000 no pueda usarse regularmente, en una calle regular, porque es ilegal y en algún sentido es como conducir un carro en arrendamiento, pero supongo que debido al hecho que fue desarrollado con una pista en mente, bueno, es allí donde se siente vivo y se justifica la inversión de alguna forma... 

Si bien el Lamborghini Sesto Elemento es un carro despampanante, con el diseño futurista por el cual conocemos la marca del toro rabioso, la versión auto de juguete creada por Hot Wheels es apenas decente, aún dentro de lo que puedes esperar de este fabricante, se queda corta, principalmente por causa de los problemas de control de calidad que nosotros, los coleccionistas, conocemos muy bien y los cuales se están volviendo peores con el tiempo, no solo para artículos de la Línea Principal, sino para líneas Adultas y De Lujo... 

Leeway Chang, un diseñador taiwanés-americano, quien curiosamente vivió durante su infancia en Latinoamérica, estuvo detrás del desarrollo de este modelo, pero también ha estado colaborando con el diseño de decoraciones para muchos modelos de la Línea Principal. 

Su trabajo en este artículo es bueno, como diseñador, sé que el Sesto Elemento es un coche muy retador para reproducir en tamaño pequeño apropiadamente, debido a sus formas particulares, pero en este caso las proporciones lucen apropiadas, aunque sé muy bien que Hot Wheels produce casi exclusivamente carros de juguete y por lo tanto, sus diseñadores SIEMPRE alteran las proporciones (por eso es que, entre otros aspectos, los productos de Hot Wheels NO son réplicas a escala exactas). 

Conseguí este modelo en el mercado primario, en una tienda minorista local; pertenece a la Serie HW Workshop - Night Burnerz de 2015, parte de la categoría Regular y hasta aquí ha tenido al menos 8 iteraciones, solo para la Línea Principal; tiene carrocería en diecast y chasis plástico en plateado oscuro, la dosis de diecast es decente, pero se siente muy ligero en la mano; el molde, por otro lado, tiene un montón de rebaba aquí y allá, parte de los problemas de calidad que mencioné. 

El trabajo de pintura, hecho en verde manzana, llegó con un par de rayones desde fábrica (el otro problema de control de calidad y esta vez no fui lo suficientemente cuidadoso en la selección), complementado por una decoración con tampos y/o calcomanías para las luces frontales y algunos detalles de la cubierta trasera para el motor; los interiores fueron trabajados en negro, tiene ventanas ahumadas, las ruedas plásticas presentan diseño de rimes Japanese 5 Spoke en gris oscuro y fue hecho en Malasia...

With the arrival of the 21st century, a relatively novel concept was introduced to the market of flamboyant luxury and performance represented by Super / Hyper Sports Cars: one that actually, more than a car, offers an experience... 

This concept is: a Track Only Super / Hyper Car, which doesn’t need much explanation about its goal, but it involves important changes in the way you "own" and use a car like that, because obviously we are talking about a product that is not legal for the street... 

Now, cars specifically made for tracks have been developed virtually since these race circuits exist, namely, more than a century ago, way before motorsports regulatory organizations were created and they became big money making machines. 

Nonetheless, Track Only Super / Hyper Cars are a much more "fresh" concept, because Super / Hyper Cars, in the contemporary understanding of this term, are rather recent; some people might say that the era of this kind of vehicles began with the 1954 Mercedes 300SL, but the 1994 McLaren F1 is a more proper example of this category. 

My guest for this publication is a representative of the novel concept already mentioned: the 2011 Lamborghini Sesto Elemento (Sixth Element), a 2-Door Fastback Coupe / Berlinetta Track Only Super Car / Hyper Car, that joins a select group of beasts not allowed on the streets. 

In that group you can include wild cars like: Ferrari FXX Evoluzione, Aston Martin Vulcan AMR Pro, Pagani Zonda R, Ferrari LaFerrari FXX K, McLaren P1 GTR, Lotus T-125, Porsche 918 RSR, Maserati MC12 Corse, Ferrari 599XX, Pinifarina EF7 or Brabham BT62. 

None of them, however, could be mistaken with a Super / Hyper Car for the street, because these winged beasts have been extensively modified with special body kits, improved engines and the differences with actual racing cars are minimal. 

The Sesto Elemento, on the other hand, could pass as a street car with a neat, sober (compared with its peers previously listed) and chiseled design, characterized by the slightly metallic gray of the carbon fiber and some strategic accents in red; but due to some safety regulations and more than anything, in order to avoid any "cannibalization" with the Aventador, Lamborghini decided to create only 20 iterations of the Sesto Elemento and only for the tracks... 

It’s ironic that a car like this, with a price tag barely south from US$3,000,000 cannot be used on a regular basis, on a regular street, because it’s illegal and in some sense it’s like you were driving a car in leasing, but I guess that due to the fact that it was developed with a track in mind, well, it’s there where it feels alive and the investment is justified somehow... 

While the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento is a stunning car, with the futuristic design for which we know the brand of the raging bull, the toy car version created by Hot Wheels is barely decent, even within what you can expect from this manufacturer, it falls short, mainly because of the quality control issues that we, the collectors, know very well and which are getting worse over time, not only for items of the Mainline, but also of Adult and Deluxe lines... 

Leeway Chang, a Taiwanese-American designer, who interestingly lived during his childhood in Latin America, was behind the development of this model, but he has been collaborating also with the design of decorations for many models of the Mainline. 

His work in this item is good, as designer, I know that the Sesto Elemento is a very challenging car to reproduce in small size properly, due to its particular shapes, but in this case the proportions look proper, although I know very well that Hot Wheels produces almost exclusively toy cars and hence, its designers ALWAYS alter the proportions (that’s why, among other aspects, Hot Wheels products are NOT accurate scale replicas). 

I got this model in the primary market, in local retail store; it belongs to the 2015 HW Workshop - Night Burnerz Series, part of the Regular category and so far it has had at least 8 iterations, only for the Mainline; it has diecast body and plastic chassis in dark silver, the dose of diecast is decent, but it feels very light in hand; the mold, on the other hand, has a lot of burr here and there, part of the quality issues I mentioned. 

The paint job, made in apple green, arrived with a pair of scratches from factory (the other quality control issue and this time I wasn’t careful enough in the selection), complemented by a decoration with tampos and/or decals for the front lights and some details of the rear cover for the engine; the interiors were worked in black, it has smoked windows, the plastic wheels feature Japanese 5 Spoke rims design in dark gray and it was made in Malaysia...
