No podría ignorar jamás la belleza de las cosas antiguas, incluyendo desde luego los autos viejos y no podría olvidar nunca el encanto de los viejos buenos tiempos, cuando las cosas solían ser más simples y mejores: simplemente no compro ese concepto de "un-tipo-de-vida-automatizado-e-hipercontrolado-y-con-todo-de-alguna-manera-más-feliz" que quiere ser impuesto en nosotros, como si fuera un especie de "tiranía benevolente"... 

Nadie con dos dedos de frente debería confiar en las "buenas intenciones" de gente sedienta del poder para esclavizar a cada ser humano o la cosa más cercana a eso, aunque la esclavitud global no está muy lejos en el futuro, si las circunstancias presentes continúan por el tiempo suficiente... 

Si piensas que es una suposición completamente descabellada, verifica lo que la historia tiene que decir acerca de la esclavitud a gran escala, particularmente desde el siglo pasado en adelante o simplemente atestigua lo que está ocurriendo actualmente: un cambio más bien demasiado rápido aunque previsible de las falsas democracias que estuvieron gobernando muchos países alrededor del mundo, a dictaduras evidentes (como si las que han existido antes no fueran suficientes). 

Su propósito es inspeccionar y regular cada aspecto de nuestras vidas, con cualquier excusa que se les venga a la mente, pandemias es la moda hoy en día, pero la combinación con una depresión económica está en camino, con el fin de apretar más los grilletes... 

Sin embargo, las cosas no fueron siempre así, los gobiernos no eran tan mandones y perversos (al menos no de una forma tan obvia), también la tecnología no era tan "omnipresente" o usada de una forma tan descarada para controlar dispositivos / aparatos y a través de ellos a sus usuarios, todo era más auténtico, analógico, artesanal, manual, mecánico, más bajo tu control que para controlarte... 

Por supuesto, por ‘dispositivos / aparatos’, quiero dar a entender también vehículos y mis invitados para esta publicación son parte de las cosas antiguas que mencioné al principio, ambos basados en el: Chevrolet 2100 (Fleetmaster) Fleetline Aerosedan Special Deluxe (Lowrider Custom) de 1947, un Coupé de Tamaño Completo Sedán 2 Puertas / Fastback... 

Cuando dije ‘más simple’ lo dije en serio, Chevrolet en ese momento no tenía 50 versiones o niveles de acabado para cada modelo lanzado, NO, para 1947 habían solo 2 niveles de acabados o series: 1500 Stylemaster (la básica) y 2100 Fleetmaster (la lujosa), el Fleetline era en realidad una sub-serie, aún más lujosa y hubo 4 estilos de carrocería: coupé, sedán, cabriolet / convertible y vagoneta familiar, eso es todo, pero eran lo suficientemente distintivos para complacer a los clientes. 

Y cuando dije ‘mejores’ no estaba bromeando tampoco, porque el coche, especialmente el Fleetline, es una belleza, con su diseño curvilíneo y aerodinámico, tan atemporal que luce fabuloso después de 74 años. 

Además, en esa época podías arreglar las complicaciones con tu vehículo por tí mismo, en tu garaje, con algunas herramientas, no necesitabas técnicos y equipamiento sofisticado costosos solo para diagnosticar el problema, ni hablar de arreglarlo, como tienes que hacer con los "carros inteligentes" actuales... 

Aquí estoy una vez más, con otro capítulo de los "los buenos viejos tiempos de Hot Wheels, una marca que solía hacer buenos autos de juguete" y mis invitados para la reseña presente son perfectos para este tema, no solo porque el molde mismo es relativamente antiguo, sino tambien porque están basados en un coche viejo fantástico... 

El diseño para este carro de juguete fue desarrollado por el prolífico Phil Rielhman y debo decir que es en términos generales un modelo muy agradablemente hecho, lo cual es de esperarse de un diseñador veterano, aunque unos pocos de sus trabajos no han estado en el mismo nivel; fue lanzado originalmente en 2004 y tuvo al menos 29 iteraciones, incluyendo variaciones, para líneas en las categorías Regular y Adulta, hasta su retiro en 2015... 

El nivel de detalle es muy bueno en el exterior de la carrocería, que fue hecha en diecast, mientras que el chasis es plástico con acabado cromado para ambos; las curvas del auto de juguete son suaves excepto en el capó, los guardafangos frontales y parte de la cola, donde puedes notar las muescas dejadas por la separación en el molde para estas secciones, es una "solución de continuidad" usada con cierta frecuencia en objetos tridimensionales moldeados, los cuales presentan curvas compuestas o superficies complejas, solo que el control de calidad de Hot Wheels es a menudo pobre. 

Pero afortunadamente el resultado en el resto de carro de juguete es muy decente y Phil encontró muy apropiado darle una postura Lowrider: en realidad este modelo, quiero decir el auto real, es un gran favorito entre los entusiastas de los Lowriders, por eso es llamado usualmente "Bomb" ("Bomba"); ahora, algunos accesorios fueron omitidos, pero al menos la visera dual fue incluida, lo que significa que este coche de juguete incluye 5 partes, en lugar de las 4 partes habituales (probablemente esa es la razón porque fue descontinuado). 

Los trabajos de pintura para ellos fueron hechos respectivamente en lavanda claro con acabado metalizado y azul oscuro con acabado Metalflake, complementado por varios tampos y/o calcomanías que cubren la mayoría de la carrocería, con diseños inspirados obviamente en la Cultura Lowrider, en negro / blanco / plateado / lila y plateado / azul claro metalizado respectivamente. 

Los interiores fueron trabajos en blanco y plateado respectivamente, con un nivel de detalle básico; las ruedas son plásticas y presentan diseño de rimes Wire Spokes Lace Wheels en ambos casos, con acabado cromado y ambos fueron hechos en Malasia...

I could never ignore the beauty of old stuff, including of course old cars and I could never forget the charm of the old good times, when things used to be simpler and better: I just don’t buy this concept of "an-automated-and-hyper-controlled-yet-somehow-happier-kind-of-life" that wants to be imposed on us, as if it were some sort of "benevolent tyranny"... 

Nobody with half a brain should trust in the "good intentions" of people thirsty for power to enslave every single human being or the closest thing to that, albeit global slavery is not so far in the future, if the present circumstances continue long enough... 

If you think that it’s a completely farfetched assumption, check what history has to say about large scale slavery, particularly since the last century onwards and just witness what’s currently happening: a rather too fast but foreseeable change from the fake democracies that were governing many countries around the world, to evident dictatorships (as if those that have existed before weren’t enough). 

Their purpose is to inspect and regulate every single aspect of our life, with any excuse that comes to their mind, pandemics is the fad nowadays, but the combination with an economic depression is on the way, in order to tighten the shackles further... 

However, things weren’t always like this, governments weren’t so bossy and wicked (at least not in such an obvious way), also technology was not so "omnipresent" or used in a so blatant way to control devices / apparatuses and through them to their users, everything was more authentic, analogic, handcrafted, manual, mechanic, more under your control than to control you... 

Of course, by ‘devices / apparatuses’, I’m meaning also vehicles and my guests for this publication are part of the old stuff I mentioned at the beginning, both based on the: 1947 Chevrolet 2100 (Fleetmaster) Fleetline Aerosedan Special Deluxe (Custom Lowrider), a Full Size 2-Door Sedan / Fastback Coupe... 

When I said ‘simpler’ I meant it, Chevrolet at that moment didn’t have 50 versions or trims levels of each model released, NO, for 1947 there were only 2 trim levels or series: 1500 Stylemaster (the basic one) and 2100 Fleetmaster (the luxurious one), the Fleetline was actually a sub-series, even more luxurious and there were 4 body styles: coupe, sedan, cabriolet / convertible and station wagon, that’s all, but they were distinctive enough to please customers. 

And when I said ‘better’ I wasn’t kidding either, because the car, specially the Fleetline, is a beauty, with its curvy and streamlined design, so timeless that it looks great after 74 years. 

Besides, at that time you could fix the complications with your vehicle by your own, in your garage, with some tools, you didn’t need expensive technicians and sophisticated equipment to just diagnose the problem, let alone to fix it, as you have to do with the current "intelligent cars"... 

Here I’m once more, with another chapter of "the old good times of Hot Wheels, a brand that used to make good toy cars" and my guests for the present review are perfect for this topic, not only because the mold itself is relatively old, but also because they are based on a fantastic old car... 

The desing for this toy car was developed by the prolific Phil Rielhman and I must say that it’s in general terms a very nicely made model, which is to be expected from a veteran designer, albeit a few of his works have not been at the same level; it was originally released in 2004 and it had at least 29 iterations, including variations, for lines in the Regular and Adult categories, until its retirement in 2015... 

The level of detail is very good in the exterior of the body, which was made in diecast, while the chassis is plastic with chrome finishing for both examples; the curves of the toy car are smooth except in the hood, front fenders and part of the tail, where you can notice the notches left by a separation in the mold for these sections, it’s "solution of continuity" used with certain frequency in three-dimensional objects molded, which feature compound curves or complex surfaces, only that the quality control by Hot Wheels is often poor. 

But fortunately the result in the rest of the toy car is very decent and Phil found very appropriate to give it a Lowrider stance: actually this model, I mean the actual car, is a great favorite among the enthusiasts of the Lowriders, that’s why it’s usually called "Bomb"; now, some accessories were omitted, but at least the dual visor was included, which means that this toy car includes 5 parts, instead of the 4 usual parts (probably that’s the reason why it was discontinued). 

The paint jobs for them were made respectively in light lavender with metallic finishing and dark blue with Metalflake finishing, complemented by several tampos and/or decals that cover most of the body, with designs obviously inspired by the Lowrider Culture, in black / white / silver / lilac and silver / light metallic blue respectively. 

The interiors were worked in white and silver respectively, with a basic level of detail; the wheels are plastic and feature Wire Spokes Lace Wheels in both cases, with chrome finishing and both were made in Malaysia...
