ENGLISH I think that I’m somewhat retarded (just in case, I don’t mean mentally retarded, though sometimes it looks like =PPPPP...), but now with my brand new job, my spare time was drastically reduced (and frankly, I prefer it that way) so more than two weeks later, I publish my birthday gift, but better late than never.
It merged two of my passions: cars and mechas, but here it happened something like a fusion between Vegeta and Gokou in Super Saiyan fourth phase hehehe...
I had no plans to purchase more Alternators / Binaltechs, largely ’cause they are not precisely cheap figures, but I couldn’t avoid the temptation again.
My Subaru Impreza WRC/Smokescreen got a new lil’ friend (or I should say lil’ enemy? HAHAHA) and the costume couldn’t be more tempting: a 1997 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible, one of the few sports cars manufactured in North America, with a very sexy and refined shape, 7" long; but in robot mode it manages an even greater impact, as it comes armed to the teeth (literally) and it’s impressive, since is taller and wider than his lil’ friend / lil’ enemy with a height of 8".
It has an outstanding level of detail (rightly they are endorsed or licensed by the cars manufacturers they represent), a paint / pad printing job accurate and very well done, with chrome accents and its transformation is an arduous process (which I would qualify as level 4, at least), so while is a delight to see him displayed, it’s really a torture to make some photo shots on him...
For now, stay tuned and don’t forget to become my followers, your support makes the difference =DDDDD
What a masterpiece that is so well made! It really stands out on display especially the gloss and metallic finish. A perfect toy for a robot/car lover like you.
I think Alternators/Binaltech r great series of excellent collectibles, that cater to collectors like me, avid of realistic cars & fantastic robots... this was a wonderful gift i must say !!! =D
definitely, indeed for me is a sort of sample of high engineering applied to a collector figure... i guess is something that needs a lot of imagination & common sense... the result is very interesting, accurate & attractive, actually they catch the eye... their high price is more than justified for me =D
TYSM CB that was actually a great compliment comming from u =D... well i try to do my best in my shots, as a proof of my respect for collection figures & i think i’m improving my skills (modesty aside LOL)... my main resource is natural light that works both as main & fill light (i hate flash in my pics, since they eliminate the richness in colours), i used as well an slightly smoked mirror surface & a contrasting colour background... ohhhh almost forget, another two main resources: common sense & good taste XD
Don't sell yourself short these pictures are awesome. Lately I have just grabbed my wife's point and click camera and snapped a quick shot here and there. I have access to a nice lighting set up if I want to shoot the macro stuff, but what you are doing with just natural light is amazing. Those last two resources are a must as well, LOL.
Awesome! Awesome figure and equally wicked photography, Chris!
I always wanted to get into this Binaltech thing, but once I do, there'd be no turning back... so, I'm staying away (no thanks to their prices)... for now. LOL!
By the way, congratulations on the new job, man! :)
WOW !!! i’m truly flattered LOL, a new compliment on my pics, now comming from a professional photographer... i didn’t expect this X.X... TYSM pal & THX again for sharing my joy bout my brand new job, it really means a lot for me =D
the photos and mecha is great! more action shots of it and also with its "partner/enemy" would make it even more interesting(when hv spare time that is). XD
hehehe... sorry sI619, i’m more the kind of blogger that doesn’t like to make vignettes with his figures =/... rarely i make a sort of semi-dioramas in my post, but is not the rule here LOL... anyway, who knows ??? someday i will feel crazy & i will do that for my fans... @.@ BTW, there is a link in this very post where u can see his friend/enemy, just click & see =)

My alternate blog in WordPress
From now, I will be publishing basically the same contents in both blogs, but for reviews before March 18, 2019, you must read my Blogger blog...
I’m a professional graphic designer and a restful collector, but above all: I’m someone who doesn’t take for granted anything, just because someone else says so. I think this hobby goes way beyond buying stuff here and there: anybody with money can buy collectibles, but not anybody becomes collector by doing so. I think as well that this hobby is, more than anything, about knowledge, about making sense of what happens around us and just like any other kind of knowledge, if it’s devoid of ethics, is worthless. I like to address topics around collectionism, including, but not limited to: history, industry, forums, groups, collectors, distributors, sellers, etc. I’m fully aware that criticism is essential for our hobby: everything is susceptible of improvement and we the collectors demand quality, but the industry around it doesn’t necessarily shares that vision. After all, well-targeted criticism always helps to detect failures and correct them, it’s like critical thinking: it helps you see things as they really are and not just as how they are presented to you. If you are someone who likes to look beyond the surface, welcome, if that is not the case, continue at your own risk...

Actually some of the Alternators/Binaltechs are good. Both hasbro or TakaraTomy version have their own advantages. I have some mixed of them. :)

Chris this set of photos is amazing! Are you shooting on a mirror or a hi gloss surface? They look like they are out of an auto show catalog.
