ENGLISH It took sometime for me to understand the NSX phenomenon... I have heard many car enthusiasts, praising the incredible features and appearance of one of the most appreciated and remembered models of the japanese car industry...
Inasmuch as I’m barely beginning to discover the magic behind all the high performance samples from the east side of the world (and right now, I’m more versed in the west side samples), you should excuse my apparent carelessness...
In fact, I like to take time into investigate each model published here, because it lets me enjoy it much more than just purchase it =PPPPP...
The development of this sport car (also rated as super car) began in 1984 and the body design was commissioned initially to Pininfarina; at that stage, the project was called HP-X (Honda Pininfarina Xperimental).
However, it was not long when Honda decided to take in their own hands this project.
This is quite normal, since the japanese industry is habituated to develop their products entirely, with local resources; I mean, is something quite rooted in their cultural background.
Ken Okuyama (Chief Designer) and Shigeru Uehara (Executive Chief Engineer) were in charge, when the HP-X concept evolved to NS-X (New Sporstcar eXperimental).
Of course, they were not playing the guessing game, that’s not the way this industry works...
A parameter was set for this concept vehicle and the idea was to develop a sport car with equal or greater performance to that you can expect from the Ferrari 328 GTB/GTS, but with the reliability and lower price of a japanese product.
High expectations demand a great deal of time, money and technology so, Honda put its best resources available (including its strong motorsports apparatus) in order to achieve its goal.
The NSX was intensively tested in race circuits by renowned pilots like Satoru Nakajima or even the former brazilian Formula One World Champion Ayrton Senna, who gave a valuable feedback for its development.
There was an extensive use of light materials in the construction of this model, like the all-aluminium monocoque body with extruded aluminium alloy frame and suspension, all of them innovations which contributed not only reducing the total weight, but improving quite a bit the stiffness and hence, the driving precision.
Other innovations included in this model were: an independent 4-channel anti-lock brake system, an electric power steering system, a VTEC (Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control) system, an electronic throttle control and a dedicated 23-steps paint process.
The body design features a cab forward layout, which optimizes the visibility and improves the weight distribution; also a long tail which enhances high speed directional stability.
The powertrain was a powerful 182 cu in, 3.0 L, VTEC C30A V6 engine featuring titanium connecting rods to allow a high-rpm operation, rated at 270 hp...
A whole bolide!...
It’s my pleasure to introduce another gem of the SS Tuner Series by Muscle Machines and one you will not see so often: a 2001 Acura (Honda) NSX.
Seriously, I’m gonna miss this pretty line just because: 1. Maisto has no plans to reintroduce this series and 2. Maisto is allergic to the higher quality / higher price of the previous owner of the Muscle Machines brand: Funline Merchandise Co., Inc, anyway.
That said, I’m the happy and proud owner of a nice and highly detailed diecast replica, with a rich paint job in dark red polychrome and dark grey accents in the hood and rear spoiler, simulating carbon fiber.
Obviously, the pad printing job is prolix, according to the high standards set by this series and includes the interiors (in the dashboard, the center console, the seats and the rear engine), the rear spoiler (which has the best finishing I have seen in this line so far), the windshield, below the chassis and in the dual rear exhausts.
It has diecast body with black plastic chassis, openable hood with detailed interior featuring a huge special radiator and low profile rubber tires with beautiful racing chrome wheels... =DDDDD
Exo 18:8-11 "And Moses told his father-in-law all that the LORD had done unto Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel's sake, and all the travail that had come upon them by the way, and how the LORD delivered them. And Jethro rejoiced for all the goodness which the LORD had done to Israel, whom HE had delivered out of the hand of the Egyptians. And Jethro said: blessed be the LORD, Who hath delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of Pharaoh, Who hath delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians. Now I know that the LORD is greater than all gods: for in the thing wherein they dealt proudly HE was above them."
Impressed with the extensive coverage of this post right from history, rational of the making, the design, the renowned driver and right to the performance. As for the toy itself, what can I say. You say it all pal! I'll give it a tall thumb up ^_^
internet have a lot of info available about certain models and fortunately, this is one of those well known and respected... sometimes i’m not so lucky =/... the japanese models are growing in me like never before !!! =D
Honda NSX and Honda S2000 are the two best road sports car build by Honda and probably the best thing ever happen in automotive industry since the introduction of McDonald's in Japan. Apparently there is a plan by Honda to create a new type of NSX though not sure if and when it will really happen - one thing for sure, poor farmer like me won't be able to afford such car.... sigh
HEHE... i heard that perhaps in 2015 the new NSX could be released and with the recent emergence of the new GT-R, the Lexus LFA and the new Supra in concept stage, it would be a great move for Acura/Honda... i’m afraid that a humble mine-worker like me, only can afford a scale replica, because the actual car is not even in my wildest dreams LOL !!! XD

My alternate blog in WordPress
From now, I will be publishing basically the same contents in both blogs, but for reviews before March 18, 2019, you must read my Blogger blog...
I’m a professional graphic designer and a restful collector, but above all: I’m someone who doesn’t take for granted anything, just because someone else says so. I think this hobby goes way beyond buying stuff here and there: anybody with money can buy collectibles, but not anybody becomes collector by doing so. I think as well that this hobby is, more than anything, about knowledge, about making sense of what happens around us and just like any other kind of knowledge, if it’s devoid of ethics, is worthless. I like to address topics around collectionism, including, but not limited to: history, industry, forums, groups, collectors, distributors, sellers, etc. I’m fully aware that criticism is essential for our hobby: everything is susceptible of improvement and we the collectors demand quality, but the industry around it doesn’t necessarily shares that vision. After all, well-targeted criticism always helps to detect failures and correct them, it’s like critical thinking: it helps you see things as they really are and not just as how they are presented to you. If you are someone who likes to look beyond the surface, welcome, if that is not the case, continue at your own risk...
