SPEED sucede que es uno de esos canales especializados en los deportes a motor, con un amplio menú para atender una audiencia ávida de... Ya saben, velocidad.
La única referencia que tengo de este canal, es que cubre las carreras NASCAR, que no son mi delirio así que, ¡adivinaron!... A duras penas lo veo.
Bueno, no hubiera sabido acerca de "las otras" cosas disponibles en este canal, de no ser por el coleccionable publicado hoy.
Sí, tú piensas que el orden correcto en esto del coleccionismo es: tú ves una película, serie de TV, animación o lees un libro, manga, cómic y luego consigues un coleccionable relacionado, para traer de vuelta buenos recuerdos sobre ellos, pero algunas veces es muy al contrario.
Hay un programa de TV, en SPEED, llamado My Classic Car, que es presentado por Dennis Gage, un viejo agradable con un enorme bigote que lo hace lucir como un harlista con mala actitud, pero en realidad es un tipo calmado, que le encantan los autos y todo lo relacionado.
Lo que más me sorprendió, fue que él no es el "clásico" presentador de programas sobre coches en TV, quiero decir: conflictivo, exigente, estresante, déspota y con una bocota sucia, llena de obscenidades (parece funcionar en otros programas sobre autos en TV, pero es siempre incómodo y esto demuestra simplemente una falta de carácter)...
Después de todo, quienquiera que pueda refrenar su propia boca, tiene un poder grandioso.
En vez de eso, él es un observador curioso y desprevenido, sin pretensiones de saberlo todo, alguien que quieres escuchar, no dominante sino calmado...
¡Como que me recuerda a mí mismo, sin el enorme bigote y no tan viejo! HAHAHA...
Tampoco ésta es mi "clásica" introdución a una publicación, probablemente porque voy a hablar sobre el Oldsmobile 442 de 1970, en una publicación futura y no quiero ser demasiado reiterativo, eso es todo.
Aparentemente, este fabuloso diecast de GreenLight está basado en un auto que apareció en el programa de TV que estoy mencionando y no tengo idea en cual episodio.
Ahora, soy un fanático oficial de los Muscle Cars de Olds por lo que, no tengo ningún problema en traer algunos a mi mini-garaje.
¡No hay sorpresa acerca de la gran calidad de los modelos de GL y obviamente este Olds 442 luce espléndido!...
Carrocería / chasis en diecast, apertura de capó con motor detallado y ruedas de caucho son estándar en este nivel de precio, así como el buen detalle por todos lados.
Siendo un custom, las modificaciones son muy ligeras, lo que es genial porque el modelo mismo es de por sí fabuloso.
Las únicas notorias son básicamente: el trabajo de pintura en azul índigo policromado, que no era parte de las opciones de color originales, pero funciona bastante bien junto con la más bien sutil decoración en azul hielo, con llamas y los interiores (tapicería y tablero) en color blanco, una opción que era común en esa época, por lo cual, no creo que sea parte de la personalización.
También los rimes de 18" de diseño moderno complementados por las llantas de perfil bajo con el deflector trasero, hacen único a este auto.
Por último, pero no menos importante, hay una tarjeta coleccionable a todo color con la imagen del motor real al frente y una muy breve descripción del programa de TV al otro lado... Otra característica estándar es el empaque clamshell de lujo.

SPEED happens to be one of those channels specialized in the motor sports, with a wide menu to cater an audience eager for... You know, speed.
The only reference I have about this channel, is that it covers the NASCAR racing, which are not my cup of coffee so, you got it!... I hardly watch it.
Well, I wouldn’t have known about "the other" stuff available in this channel, if not for the collectible I’m publishing today.
Yeah, you think that the right order in this thing called collectionism is: you watch a movie, TV series, animation or you read a book, manga, comic and then you get a collectible related, to bring back the good memories about them, but sometimes is very the other way around.
There is a TV program, in SPEED, called My Classic Car, which is hosted by Dennis Gage, a nice old guy, with a huge mustache that makes him look like a Harley biker with a bad attitude, but actually is a quiet guy, who loves cars and everything related.
What surprised me the most, was that he’s not the "classic" car show host on TV, I mean: troubled, demanding, stressful, despot and with a big foul mouth, full of obscenities (it seems to work in other TV car shows, but is always awkward and it shows simply a lack of character)...
After all, whoever that can restrain their own mouth has a great power.
Instead, he’s a curious and unsuspecting observer, without pretensions of knowing everything, someone you wanna hear, not dominant but restful...
Kinda reminds me myself, without the huge mustache and not so old! LOLOLOL...
Neither this is my "classic" introduction to a publication, probably because I will talk about the 1970 Oldsmobile 442, in a future publication and I don’t want to be too reiterative, that’s all.
Apparently, this great diecast by GreenLight is based on a car appeared in the TV program that I’m mentioning and I have no idea which episode.
Now, I’m an official fan of the Olds Muscle Cars so, I have no problem into bring a few of them to my mini-garage.
There is no surprise about the great quality of the GL models and obviously this Olds 442 looks gorgeous!...
Diecast body / chassis, opening hood with detailed engine and rubber tires are standard in this level of price, as well as the very good detail everywhere.
Being a custom, the modifications are very slight, which is cool because the model itself is already fabulous.
The only noticeable are basically: the paint job in indigo blue polychrome, which was not part of the original color options, but works pretty fine along with the rather subtle decor in ice blue, with flames and the interiors (upholstery and dashboard) in color white, which was a common option at that time, hence, I don’t think it is part of the customization.
Also the 18" wheels of modern design complemented by low profile tires and the rear spoiler, make this car unique.
Last but not least, there is a full color trading card with a picture of the actual engine in front and a very brief description of the TV program on the other side... Another standard feature is the packaging in deluxe clamshell.

As usual, any 1/64 scale cars with openable engine hood and some engine gimmick on it is surely cool and I love this as well apart from the fact that the white interior make it look so fake... sigh.... it would be more real if the interior is just in black or any dark color...
for some reason, the white interiors were usual in the actual old american Hot Rods and Muscle Cars, not only in contrast with dark colors but also in combination with pastel colors... it increases the feeling of amplitude and cleaning (it’s also very delicate and gets dirty easily =/////)... sometimes the american taste could be odd for people like you, pal (take a look at this link... in this case, only the dashboard is black, the rest is white !!!)... maybe a bit of paint in the dashboard would make these interiors look more realistic, but for me is pretty fine, since i love the Olds !!!... =)
This car sure has quite a history and the toy is rather detailed shown on engine and tires except for the plain interior. Good design for grandpa Nascar racer.
HEHEHE... now that you mention it, the original owners of these cars were young adults, back in the 70s, so probably they are grandparents nowadays... however, most of the young adults at the present, would be glad to own one of these gorgeous machines, restored or customized, i’m pretty sure of that !!!... it seems that the white interiors are not very welcome in the east side of the world LOL... the interiors in this diecast are indeed quite detailed for its size, but the white finishing makes them look unfinished, maybe is just a matter of perception... =)
...casi que no mijo... esa pieza esta de luxe, es muy sutil y a su vez muy poderosa por donde lo mire su gran detalle con respecto a las luces la matricula y las flamas son espectaculares, los rimes aunque no soy fanático del cromo me encantan... esta piecita es digna de un gran coleccionista, lo felicito viejo christiam me a sorprendido de nuevo... ¡CORTEN!... que tal estuve con esa presentacion perrito siopaque bien guaza...jajajajajajajajajajaja esa nave esta es una retrochim... jajajaja pa llebarla al perdomop a picar a media noche y ganarce pa los buñuelos... sisas sisas...jajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajaajajajajajajaja...
ya decía yo que tanta floritura en el lenguaje no era normal en sumercé, debo reconocer que se gasta su talento para intentar copiar mi estilillo particular... casi, casi me convenció esta percanta !!! OSHHHHHH !!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA... como difícil de complacer este man, no ??? menos mal que yo este blog y mi colección no la creé pa’ complacer a nadie... ÚSSSTEEEEEE bestia !!!...
ahora, dejando de lado la guachada (porque soy una personita muy amable HEHEHE, ya voy Toño...), pues me agrada que le guste mono... la verdá es una pieza bastante inclusive, de alta gama y ahí la tiene a la vista... en lo unico que no estoy de acuerdo con sumercé, es que no le guste el cromo, porque normalmente, donde no hay cromo, no hay elegancia (y eso que este modelo no es para nada Bling-Bling)... le toca familiarizarse más con los fierros, pa’ que los disfrute como yo lo hago... =)
