ENGLISH This world of cars is one where the people can take sides with certain type of vehicle, either as a consummate lover or as a consummate hater and nothing in the middle... Is a matter of passion, when we are talking about cars, the feelings come first and then, after a short or long time, the reason appears to put our feet on the ground...
Some people, including appreciated colleagues collectors, just cannot stand the off-road vehicles...
They think that either a jeep, a pickup truck or a truck, with or without 4WD, are means of transportation so ugly that become ridiculous...
Basically, for them, these are the lumpen of the automotive world!...
Well, I think that such point of view is very respectable, I mean, as I already mentioned, the cars stir passions and they’re not intended to be the best for everyone.
In fact, the off-road vehicles, I mean, the real ones, not the pretenders, hardly could be considered as something stylish or refined...
Not at all, these are designed and manufactured for the roughest driving conditions, for the grounds where other kind of vehicles cannot arrive, for the people used to closeness with nature and to live the life on the edge of survival.
I wish I could be an adventurer, someone prepared to survive with the minimum and although I’m not Indiana Jones, I love nature, specially the virgin places, where the human impact is barely noticeable...
I guess that’s one of the main reasons why I love the off-road vehicles.
But there are some others, is not only a matter of feelings... The reason is involved as well!...
The simple and even rustic appearance of these vehicles hides a lot of engineering, everything is made with the toughest materials, the 4WD is a very complex device and was developed firstly for the off-roads, but it has proven to be an amazing help for high performance vehicles like the Audi Quattro or the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4, for instance.
Moreover, there is nothing superfluous in these vehicles, everything is there by a reason, the function is the priority and the form depends on the function, is that simple.
These vehicles are not beauty queens, but they have a high dose of design in each component and with its numerous benefits, many exclusive and exquisite vehicles would blush...
Ask a Ferrari or a Rolls Royce that take you out of a remote location, and watch how your frustation and shame grow, while you realize that you have an item so expensive and yet so useless! =PPPPP...
I think that, next time, you should look to an off-road with respect rather than with despise, because it’s a prodigy of the engineering and design...
But it’s your personal choice anyway...
I’m sorry for those who feel averse for the off-road vehicles, because I love them and I have gotten a good amount of them, which I will be publishing soon...
This time the guest is a great model by Hot Wheels, released in 2010 and designed by Jun Imai.
As usual, there is no complete info about the actual model taken as reference for this mini-replica so, I made my own research and thanks to my automotive smell sense, I realized that is a 1963 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 Custom...
Please note that I emphasize "Custom", because this is not the stock version of the model and indeed, it takes some elements of a recent version of this classic created by Icon TLC, a private company, with a great reputation, from Los Angeles, CA; specialized in off-road vehicles, which are a mix of a classic / retro style with the best modern performance features available for the off-road market.
Despite the modifications, the original FJ40 is fairly recognizable, the level of detail is above the average for Hot Wheels products, you can see on its bed / box a big tool box, an extinguisher, a wrench along with a spare tire, the central console in the cabin has the three mandatory gears, it has a nice (thought a tad thick) roll bar with scouts lights and a reinforced bumper in the front.
I got a pair of them, one from a Regular line and the other from an Adult line.
The one of the Regular line features diecast body with black plastic chassis and the wheels design is the Off-Road 5 Spoke (OR5SP) while the one of the Adult line has diecast body / chassis and Off-Road Real Riders tires.
The paint jobs / tampos are great too and what else I can say?...
I love off-roads and you have to live with it! =PPPPP...
Luk 12:22-26 "And He said unto His disciples, therefore I say unto you, take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on. The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment. Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and GOD feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls? And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit? If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?."
It looks kind of mini beside the yellow truck hehe. I see you having 2 over these land cruisers. Well, as the saying goes... Good things come in pair ^_^
yep, this is the shorter version of the FJ40 and the pickup truck, on the other hand, is full size... this is seriously one of the nicest recent models made by Hot Wheels and, by the way, good things come in herd every now and then... LOL... =D

My alternate blog in WordPress
From now, I will be publishing basically the same contents in both blogs, but for reviews before March 18, 2019, you must read my Blogger blog...
I’m a professional graphic designer and a restful collector, but above all: I’m someone who doesn’t take for granted anything, just because someone else says so. I think this hobby goes way beyond buying stuff here and there: anybody with money can buy collectibles, but not anybody becomes collector by doing so. I think as well that this hobby is, more than anything, about knowledge, about making sense of what happens around us and just like any other kind of knowledge, if it’s devoid of ethics, is worthless. I like to address topics around collectionism, including, but not limited to: history, industry, forums, groups, collectors, distributors, sellers, etc. I’m fully aware that criticism is essential for our hobby: everything is susceptible of improvement and we the collectors demand quality, but the industry around it doesn’t necessarily shares that vision. After all, well-targeted criticism always helps to detect failures and correct them, it’s like critical thinking: it helps you see things as they really are and not just as how they are presented to you. If you are someone who likes to look beyond the surface, welcome, if that is not the case, continue at your own risk...
